George is a guy who sure does not like speaking in public - even worse being in any question/answer session. He avoids public addresses and only comes out of the closet when he's stuffed out because of necessity or formal occasions he can't get out of. Other Presidents (and leaders elsewhere) have had little problem with this and have given far more interviews/statements.

George is fine if he's given a script - but otherwise a PR guy's nightmare. Even if he was excellent in ad hoc chat - it's still very difficult to dance around problems that .. bottom line, just can't be justified, - no matter how hard you try. He would not survive a day in several other countries where there is far more "interrogation" of leaders and public "clashes".
