![]() I'm currently a nursing student, and I plan on working in the online adult entertainment industry for as long as possible.
I really recommend all adult webmasters who haven't done so to go to college and get some type of job certification. I don't predict a major problem in the industry, but having been in the industry since 2001, I've seen a whole lot of changes. A lot of people that were around then making money aren't around anymore. A lot of programs that were around then fizzled out and faded away. My point is, this work doesn't require the same amount of hours as your standard 9-5 in a lot of instances. So I think it would be very easy for a lot of webmasters to continue to work on their sites and earn income while at the same time attending some sort of college/certification courses. Now I know this opens up an arguement about the value you of going to college, but there is SOME VALUE in getting THE RIGHT certification/degree. It's just up to you to pick something that you would be interested in and that's worth while financially. It's always good to have 2 streams of income.

Continuing your education could be smart.. But my uncle once told me that, "college only teaches you how to work for someone else".
Of course it's not 100% true, but I agree with what he said. I can see going and taking some classes on something you like.. Such as art or photography and so on..but IMO once you are into your late 20's or 30's you shouldn't be so worried about school if your plans are to work for yourself. Now on the other hand if you want to work for someone else then there is nothing wrong with school.. IMO however there is no replacement for going out and doing it, because for yourself you don't need a piece of paper that cost you $50-80k. So my thoughts would be if you are making money now, diversify into something else. Use the quick easy money from online to get something more stable started.

I have the bach. and worked in telco for 8 years after college. I would never work for someone other than myself again. No matter the amount of money.
But that's just me. I am however taking some classes this year. Mainly for finances, and some computer type classes for my next projects. I am having a hard time finding good quality programmers, and computer people. So I figured I would brush up on some of my skills incase I have to do part of it myself while finding an IT/programmer person. I have the bank, just need the minions. I figure if nothing else, I get another piece of paper giving me an assoc, certification, or whatever in the mean time. While I also get to network in the classes for people going into those fields. ![]() |

Education by means of schools is SERIOUSLY overrated. If I look back on my student years....it's been a complete waste of time in terms of eduction. I had
fun though....but that's a different story ![]()

I see this more as a side income to my job. It could get more. I wouldn't mind that.
![]() But it doesn't have to. The more options you have, the better.

I guess it's a good idea, but I would pick something with a better growth potential. A nurse makes $25-$30/hr, with a very limited growth potential. If you get a business degree, you get the same $$, but the growth potential is much greater. If you are smooth, you could even leverage your experience running your own adult biz, and bullshit yourself into some 6 figure/year management position.
