Does Microsoft have a master password to access your computer against your will?
This is just a theory. Don't go nuts on me, please.
Come to think about it, with all the problems that Microsoft has had with the US government (which all of the sudden were pretty much forgotten about) and Bush's administration obsession with finding out what people are talking about, it's stands to reason that no matter how secure you think your computer is and how protected you feel by your Windows password, Microsoft may have some kind of master password that will allow them to get into any computer running Windows. Am I just being paranoid, or is it possible that such thing exists? |

Anyone can access your computer
As long as you are online most people can access your computer.
Even if you have some password protected directory or some other way of protecting your files, there is always a chance that if someone wanted to get info from you they could. That file sharing is one of the key features of being connected to the internet. What they can access is well limited to what your mind can imagine. Build a bigger wall and someone builds a bigger ladder. So if you got something to hide, then maybe you shouldn't do it online or on your computer. Nick

Ok! I admit it! I have the password, but don't blame me if your bank account is drained. I didn't do it!

I was just wondering if you guys thought that something like that would exist. For terrorism purposes and what not.
I was thinking about this morning and thought that it wouldn't be past the US government that do something like that. Just a thought... |

If you can gain physical access to the computer, for sure you can find away to see data on a hard drive. Yes there are ways to decipher passwords. There is a length where it becomes more difficult as I recall and some characters may impede the effort. If law enforcement wants to see what's on your PC, they will. Even with encryption. If you're really smart and write your own OS and cypher then maybe it would take them awhile. But what is worth that kind of effort?

If you run Mozart's Ghost on your PC and the click on the pi symbol in the corner while pressing shift, ... well, you're in for a surprise. But be warned. They may steal your identity and call you Ruth Marx. Which would be especially weird for a guy.
However, this must be true, because I've seen it on TV.

roflcopterz... on lollerskatezzzz.. on a brbcoasterzzzzzz...
firewall?..... lolzzzzzzzzz..... unless u set up properly and use a configurable firewalll, you are fucked....... i use a dedicated box for web and web based email..... all other ports are shut down, minus a few others i use.... if i really wanted to be secure i would dump a firewall between my web box and my main pc and only allow selective port access.... but alas, i am too lazy.... so i take my beatings like everyone else.... |
