Does Microsoft have a master password to access your computer against your will?

This is just a theory. Don't go nuts on me, please.

Come to think about it, with all the problems that Microsoft has had with the US government (which all of the sudden were pretty much forgotten about) and Bush's administration obsession with finding out what people are talking about, it's stands to reason that no matter how secure you think your computer is and how protected you feel by your Windows password, Microsoft may have some kind of master password that will allow them to get into any computer running Windows.
Am I just being paranoid, or is it possible that such thing exists?

gangbangjoe 08-12-2006 08:08 AM

yes and you are lucky i know it:

BILLR0xx0rs

~Ray 08-12-2006 08:09 AM

headless ghost 08-12-2006 08:11 AM

Windows has so many security holes no password is needed for anything ever.

scottybuzz 08-12-2006 08:12 AM

If you have good firewall they cant access your computer. But usualy they can access without problem beacuse they have backdoor,no password.

headless ghost 08-12-2006 08:14 AM

the part that I really do object to, is where they can see you through the monitor, its like a two way mirror.

shack 08-12-2006 08:15 AM

Fuck no, there are more nerds working agianst microsoft than there are for, no way in the hell they could get away with :)

gooddomains 08-12-2006 08:47 AM

Anyone can access your computer

As long as you are online most people can access your computer.

Even if you have some password protected directory or some other
way of protecting your files, there is always a chance that if someone
wanted to get info from you they could.

That file sharing is one of the key features of being connected to the
internet.

What they can access is well limited to what your mind can imagine.

Build a bigger wall and someone builds a bigger ladder. So if you got
something to hide, then maybe you shouldn't do it online or on your
computer.

BuggyG 08-12-2006 08:55 AM

but of course Microsoft can look at your pc
it's called Windows Update

OG LennyT 08-12-2006 08:58 AM

Worldnet 08-12-2006 09:31 AM

SmokeyTheBear 08-12-2006 09:36 AM

its called the windows genuine advantage tool..

it records your ip hard drive serial numbers etc and reports them back to microcrap. ( among other things )

Daruma 08-12-2006 09:47 AM

if microsoft wanted to reformat every computer out there they could do it - they have access via windows todo pretty much anything

redfalcon 08-12-2006 11:16 AM

It's possible Microsoft may have something like a master password, but it doesn't stop hackers from attacking their system

bizzking 08-12-2006 11:19 AM

that would probably be pretty illegal

backdoors that hacker put in your pirate os, yeah :)

Don't worry though the U.S. government is right now deciding whether
or not to pass a law that will allow the FBI full access to all computers
in the world to stamp out crime. Then it will be legal for them to do.

I was just wondering if you guys thought that something like that would exist. For terrorism purposes and what not.
I was thinking about this morning and thought that it wouldn't be past the US government that do something like that.
Just a thought...

pussyluver 08-12-2006 01:55 PM

If you can gain physical access to the computer, for sure you can find away to see data on a hard drive. Yes there are ways to decipher passwords. There is a length where it becomes more difficult as I recall and some characters may impede the effort. If law enforcement wants to see what's on your PC, they will. Even with encryption. If you're really smart and write your own OS and cypher then maybe it would take them awhile. But what is worth that kind of effort?

godisdead 08-12-2006 02:48 PM

If you run Mozart's Ghost on your PC and the click on the pi symbol in the corner while pressing shift, ... well, you're in for a surprise. But be warned. They may steal your identity and call you Ruth Marx. Which would be especially weird for a guy.
However, this must be true, because I've seen it on TV.

TexasDreams 08-12-2006 03:08 PM

Bill Gates is always sneaking into my computer looking for the
latest RealityCash updates. He should just go ahead and sign
up as an affiliate, and make money with our hot porn!!!

roflcopterz... on lollerskatezzzz.. on a brbcoasterzzzzzz...

firewall?..... lolzzzzzzzzz..... unless u set up properly and use a configurable firewalll, you are fucked.......

i use a dedicated box for web and web based email..... all other ports are shut down, minus a few others i use....

if i really wanted to be secure i would dump a firewall between my web box and my main pc and only allow selective port access....

but alas, i am too lazy.... so i take my beatings like everyone else....
