although it was bound to happen it's too soon for that movie. Not because of the emotional aspect, more simply because anybody who would go see the movie, saw the event live. Pearl Harbor was a cool movie to watch because I didn't have a front row seat. And Nick Cage, yikes, that dude has one character. He blows

I'm surprised nobody over there is kicking up a fuss about a movie that is exploiting the event to make Hollywood money. By that same token of logic, i should be able to ethically kill a man, just as long as i make a Hollywood film about it and cash in on his death.

I don't want to see it just because I tend not to like Oliver Stone films. However, they have every right to make the film. People were making WW2 films while the war was still happening.

I don't want to see it because the trailers make it look like a made-for-TV movie. The subject isn't touchy for me, it just looks like a bad movie made by an opportunist.

I'm not disputing anybody's right to make the film, i'm disputing the use of the incident to generate money. If they are going to donate a lion's share of the profits to the survivors, or a charity in the survivors names, then fair enough; but if (as i suspect) they are simply going to retain all the profits, then i see that as exploitation.

Has everyone that has made a film about the holocaust donated a share of their profits? I do understand what you are saying and I also understand that is still feels so raw to a lot of us.

Tragedy sells, simple as that. Titanic is the best example of that; a story 'based' on a true event where many people lost their lives, a movie that went on to gross the most money of any movie worldwide (not adjusted for inflation). Human beings, as sick and twisted as they are, love tragedy and support it constantly by watching stupid soap operas, going to see boring movies, etc. It's our nature to want tragedy, we NEED to feel depressed. And that my friends is why cheesecake isn?t cake.

My thoughts, the only reason this movie and dirty war are coming out this soon is simple, fear. Fear = justification for the war on terror?.this is bigger than Hollywood

It was a great movie. And I read an interview with certain true life people who were depicted in the film and they thanked Oliver Stone for getting it so close to real. Also, seeing pics of the two main characters, I was amazed at how similar they looked to the actors who played them.

It was a great film and, although sad in many ways, made me leave with a positive feeling.

Fuck you you assclown. The only way you'd get me to read a book is if you got a hot hooker to tie me down and torture me with a hour long grueling session of something by Stephen King, god DAMN I hate that guy. "Oh look at me I got hit by a van, I almost died, please read more of my books" Oh BOO FUCKING HOO. I'm supposed to feel sorry for the guy because he gets hit by a god damn moving vehicle? Big deal, he deserved to die because of his sins against humanity by creating all those filth-ridden books. ALL books, from the seemingly 'innocent' Cat in the Hat to the absolutely devastating The Satanic Verses by that fucktard Salman Rushdie must be destroyed with a burning passion? god damn I need to go purge a library right now I?m so angry
