hmm. is it only me, or it is impossible to check if the registrant name is correct or not when they get several thousands orders a day..? i dont think they check the owner of the card, because this have many weak sides. anyway i do not want my own name and adress in the whois.

They aren't the only ones that do that. Usually it's about the time there are complaints that the shit hits the fan and the domains get yanked, but it's still done all the time.

I keep getting people filling in a list of N/A for all the info.

If I reported them would they be pulled?

I hate getting spammed so I always use wrong info!

I got called my spammers from one of my first domains..... I never did the mistake of putting the real info in it again!

Report them? why, for not wanting to fill out YOUR form to access YOUR site? This is about registering domains, not registering for a site.

I don't think that matters. For example, my domain is registered in my name, but it was paid for with someone else's credit card.

I meant it in terms of checking the card against the card owner to make sure it is a legit card. Not against the owner of the domain.

my adress contains a non-english letter, and my card is registrated in that adress, and when i have regged domainnames before i have wrote it with that english letter that looks most like it. so, if they check the cardowner would they have "taken" me...

you will ALWAYS (well, always) get an email to the account in the whois before it gets yanked.... at least thats why I was told by my registrar.. theres always some cumquat trying to whois your shit for nefarious purposes.. I for one don't want a christian fundy to know where I live when they get guilty after masturbating to gay midgets...

preferably, set up a company/business/trust that can act as the registrar and a PO box for the mailing address. a determined person will still be able to find out a lot of the info.. but they have to be a hell of a lot more determined than just doing a whois.. trusts are harder to determine the executor from I think.

that's the great thing about the internet. it lowers the barrier-to-entry. that's also the bad thing about the internet.

If your ashamed to be in this business your in the wrong business. My mother knows what I do and she likes the money I make from home.

No shame here.
