just watched all of Band of Brothers again

Just finished watching "Band of Brothers" again for the 6th or 7th time in the past few years.. everytime I start to watch it again I still get sucked into it and have to watch all 10 episodes in whatever free time I have. Best war movie or show ever

Makes you think how there really haven't been any wars since WWII where people would describe the soldiers that fought in it as "heroes".

I'm convinced TV is the reason for that.

Great series.

While Im not going to say that there weren't heroes in other American wars, I think Band of Brothers is probably the best miniseries ever produced for television.

Not saying there weren't any other heroes in any other American Wars.. but since WWII you wouldn't describe the people that fought in them as heroes in general. I dunno, hard to compare other wars to WWII, fighting off the evil Nazi's & Japanese from taking over the world, no war has been fought on that scale since.

(hard to believe we were afraid of the Japanese when you think about it)

Band of Brothers is a great mini-series. Very true to life. One of the best portrayals of WWII I've seen besides Saving Private Ryan. Movies like Windtalkers just blow everything out of proportion (ie Nicholas Cage killing 100 Japanese soldiers with a 9mm pistol). BoB really shows the character development of the soldiers unlike most WWII movies or shows.

I think it was better than saving private ryan, but of course it's cause Band of Brothers was like 15 hours long when you add up all the episodes, and of course had more time to develope the characters and really tell a good long story.

Windtalkers just sucked moose balls IMO.

A nice portrayal of World War II. Saving Private Ryan's TV counter part of shoking battle sequence.

I forgot the title of the background music but I enjoyed listening to it.

When HBO and the BBC work together is is usually good.

The episode with the camp was almost too much for me to watch.

Yes, I agree, perhaps the best mini series ever. Great stories! America is great when we come together to fight for a common good cause.

Since WWII it's just been those in power sending our boys and girls to fight for political/financial/egotistical reasons. America should only bring its might to bear when the cause is truly just.

Can't wait to see the Pacific War version...

The History Channel has been showing one episode every Saturday morning. I don't have the DVDs and I never had HBO when it was on, so this is the first time I've been able to watch. I love it. I should definitely get the DVDs.

Also, is it entirely true and accurate to what really happened?

YARGH! Great series, I watch them quite a bit also. They are making a new series based on the US/Japanese battles. I'm looking forward to that.

There has been no war since then that has threatened the lives of every person on earth and relied on the Allies to "save" humans.

True dat, awesome serious. I normally watch it, and Miami Vice, moreso in the colder months when I have more free time. But always good.

when i watched saving private ryan, i walked out of the theater in complete shock,... couldn't even really talk to people for several hours. that was a very powerful movie. very moving the first time you see it. doubly so in a theater.
