So I had lunch with my old college boyfriend...question for you...`
He found me online, does mortgage brokering now. Is married with a baby, one on the way. Told him I was coming to visit Chicago. He asks me out to lunch.
So I meet him for lunch. Great time, great chat, etc. Really nice to see him again. We part ways after lunch. an hour later I get a text from him saying how awesome it was to see me again, I'm exactly how he remembers 'hot' and that we should get together again. I told him if we went for cocktails instead of lunch then he would have remembered me exactly from before too... 'drunk' LOL. (after all it was college) He apparently remembers alot of things so he says. hmmm Wants to hook up for a drink when I come back downtown before I leave town. So, is this appropriate to meet him again? I'm kinda thinking not now. men!

If you have no qualms of your significant other meeting an 'old' fling, that he's obviously still 'smitten' by - while you're X months pregnant - then I say go for it. However, if you do go, I just want you to know YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE. Do the right thing, ask him to take his wife or say you can't make it. I'd say if he's sincere about meeting up for drinks and is just 'reminiscing' he won't have a problem bringing the wife who's caring for his child and carrying his second one - afterall, she needs some time away from the house too. |

Don't go there. If anything ever happend (affair) it would devistate his family. Affaris are deadly. Unless you have experienced an affair directly, you can never understand the pain that his wife will endure WHEN she finds out. Affairs are always exposed at some point. It will not matter to her if she finds out 10 years later, that info will still be fresh to her and her pain will not lessen because she found out at a later time.
Stay away from this sitch. You will end up getting hurt as well. It is a slippery slope. I know how badly his wife would feel if anything happend. I had a long term girlfriend (12 years) that cheated on me. I recently left her. I have never felt, and probably never will again, so hurt and devistated. Again, unless it has happend to you, it is hard to understand. just my 2cents. |
