Agreed, and it happens to all of us. This is a clear case of what was said earlier, a guy can't start with a blank page and create something unique so he goes to other sites in the similar space and starts by copying the site and then changes it up as much as he can to try to make it look different.
That's why I don't fool myself into thinking I am a designer, I'm not, so when I need a site done, I pay someone to do it originally and creatively. In this case even though the copied site is a bit different it looks like it's clear that he started with a copy...at least to me. I have to give this one to NoCarrier. Unfortunately you have to waste your time trying to get it changed now, and it is different enough that you might have a hard time with that. good luck, anyway though. |

could be a reseller though, but layered tech owns the box |
yup ripped
hes gonna say code isnt copyrighted and the border was 1 pixel wider |
No offense but the content is totally different.
The text is different, and the pictures are different. I can't find the copy. So, it's more like a subjetive thing? To some it could look like a copy and to others don't? I remember when someone did copy literally one of my sites and the guy got sued for it. But if he would just copy the position of my images and text, I would have never do anything. I'm using common sense. :) |

It's a total rip. Anyone who thinks differently is either blind, retarded or a thief himself.

Also it would not surprise me if both webmasters hired the same designer. :1orglaugh

How does one decide where to insert sig spots in threads such as this?

Thanks for posting this, I'm ripping the site right now.... btw their site looks better, I'd do like a "reverse ripoff"
|
Time to move on.
The original 2003 design is caught in a timewarp...I use the term 'design' loosely as there is no design.... a heading here, some text there...a photo here...it's a shocker. The inspired website is not much better. You should be flattered someone thought enough of shit to eat shit. This a drama that doesn't need to happen. Rule of thumb, upgrade your site every 6-12 months, make it fresh and clean and keep your opposition guessing. Lyn |

I love the gfy, I have to stop my addiction though... |
It is a rip regardless of what is changed. Atleast he did enough to change the layout of the page a little. I've seen some that are the same exact sites with different link codes. It does suck with PPC campaigns and I've seen it happen quite often.

it is a rip!! .. but , its all about the BUTT :)

DDOS his ass

100 :) :) :)

100.........

i have been wojonated

100... :) :) :) :)

I don't think people are really realizing the importance of the design rip, it wasn't that it was a great design or layout to start with...BUT
someone wanted to start a ppc campaign and basically went to someone elses ppc result and copied it...whether it was a great design or not, that is a fucking asshole thing to do |

How do you do it? Are you all day waiting for threads, don't you have a work to do? |

they definitely copied your idea, and it wouldn't be that much of a deal if it weren't being advertised using the same method. May be if you complain to Google they will do something about it, although I doubt it.

The problem is that there is nothing he can do in terms of law. Unless the other person steal images, text or real pixels, then there is nothing to do. You have not a case. And if the person ever steal images or text, you will finish wasting more in lawyers than what you get for winning the case. You can't legally sue him in this case. You can only "maybe" hurt his reputation by posting a drama on GFY. But, again, a lot of people will not agree that this is a rip off, since he has not steal anything, just put the images and text in a similar position. |

oh dang :(

Anyone who believes it to be coincidence after taking the color scheme, PPC campaign, & general layout into consideration must be blind.
There's nothing wrong with taking a few pointers from what's proven as effective, but a lack of originality as blatant as that just shouldn't be allowed. My 2 cents, c-lo |
drama alert
