If I get inspiration from an invention and if I can IMPROVE upon it I can submit a patent application as long as the item in question has some modification and is better than the original at its intended purpose. If you have to go looking at other websites for inspiration then look, but don't touch. Hell there was one for sale on GFY here maybe a year ago with that same kinda layout.
