Plenty of good business threads everyday. You just have to cut through the bullshit thread.

We need a strictly biz section so the 5% of threads that are actually useful can be found.

Fucking Around... - Chat/jokes/entertainment
Strictly Business - Tips, resources, tutorials, etc
Webmaster Q&A - For questions
Traffic Trades... - Trade requests & gallery shit
Sell/Buy - I cannot explain it any further

I think it's long overdue. I mean, it's really not that hard to create a new forum.

I'd definitely appreciate having such a frequently updated on-topic news / help source for the industry. It'd really make things easier for those of us who actually work on websites & not just getting sig views.

Just a suggestion that probably wont be put to use.

I don't know ... right now it's a good mix. The business forum will probably create a 100 % surfer fucking arround forum.... and the webmaster board would prolly die.

I don't have any issue with the way it is laid out now, but then again I stopped trying to find new affiliates months ago on GFY...there just aren't any worth a damn on here anymore

but if you have a product/service that everyone uses you can find a lot of business on here

Well if the surfers start posting junk in the biz forum, that's when the mods need to put the ban feature to work.

AdultSeriesCash: I agree, it's all about page views. But I still think that the majority of people who come here to fuck around would still come here to do exactly that.

They could still get their entertainment/drama fix from the Fuckin Around forum, but if they decide to get to work, they can always head over to the Strictly Biz forum.

I may be wrong since I haven't fully thought of the pros & cons of such, but I think that it could actually boost exposure of front page banners on the forums & create more advertising spots, thus creating more revenue for the GFY admin. Eh?

I've seen biz threads... but they sink faster than drama, nekkid pics, and cute dog videos...

I come here for the creative and artistic manipulation of current thread viewing and bumping, as well as for the excellent popcorn.

Oh, and my sig makes you feel like a god when you click it...

Too much to look through to find an actual biz thread. Best to just have fun and maybe stumble across something now and then.

Ironically its "where the industry meets"... Too bad that isnt the case.

I just compared all the threads on the first page, only a handful are biz. They're all spam or pheonix related at that.

GFY = Not place to do biz, just place to chat.

Might as well have made an AOL chatroom

Biz threads?? Here??

Sure, you may find a sprinkling that have some substance - usually from actual webmasters.

Other than that - hell, - got to be joking. There is more biz substance on literally any webmaster board than there is here.

Just my but if that is done, it would rarely be read. Also, part of the appeal of GFY is that you get to read the gossip, the drama, the chills and spills, the comedy, and the BUSINESS SECTIOn all on the same page. That's why it's so robust and successful. Just my opinion.

Well I see your point...but even if it's rarely read, wouldn't the concept of creating the forum as a way of retaining repeat "business" be better for GFY financially? Just like the concept of attaining bookmarkers for your sites. Isn't repeat business the best business?

I know I'd rather have repeat visitors who are real webmasters that are practically guaranteed to return to my site vs surfers who drift across it. Surfers will come & go, & by keeping the "Fucking Around" forum, GFY will retain its appeal to surfers & bored webmasters alike.

I mean, I really don't see how this would hurt GFY on any level. Then again, from a few comments I've read (even yours $5 submissions), it would seem that some actually prefer having it all mixed together.

I really didn't think that a less convenient method of finding useful information had an appeal to webmasters...but I guess that's why I don't run a successful, large-scale webmaster board.

Thanks for contributing to my argument though, $5 submissions.
