Well I see your point...but even if it's rarely read, wouldn't the concept of creating the forum as a way of retaining repeat "business" be better for GFY financially? Just like the concept of attaining bookmarkers for your sites. Isn't repeat business the best business?
I know I'd rather have repeat visitors who are real webmasters that are practically guaranteed to return to my site vs surfers who drift across it. Surfers will come & go, & by keeping the "Fucking Around" forum, GFY will retain its appeal to surfers & bored webmasters alike.
I mean, I really don't see how this would hurt GFY on any level. Then again, from a few comments I've read (even yours $5 submissions), it would seem that some actually prefer having it all mixed together.
I really didn't think that a less convenient method of finding useful information had an appeal to webmasters...but I guess that's why I don't run a successful, large-scale webmaster board.
