Well .. he's right in a way.
G-d told His chosen people, there would never be a Home for them, untill the Messiah returned. So yeah.. There's never going to be Peace in that region. |
I'm definitely not anti-Israel, but this guy has a point. Israel was created in 1948 as part of repairations to European Jews after Nazi atrocities... however, the middle eastern nations will NEVER accept Israel into the fold.. it's not the same race or even close to the same culture, and as far as they arabs are concerned, the Jews are on THEIR land (well, it was their land until world war two).

I understand that you are in Israel, and I understand your loyalty to your country, but can you not even for ONE moment take the blinders off and see that people aren't bashing your country saying stuff like this, they are speaking the truth. Israel is a young country, build on land that has been in dispute and fought over for... let's face it, THOUSANDS of years. If you think for a moment that's not a valid point, get your head out of your ass. |

The people who live there right now about the rightful imhabitants. They shouldn't be walled in to one massive concentration camp. I think the world has to step in and stop this once and for all. Move UN troops into every waring country, and disarm their militaries. Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. Just cover these countries with international troops and tell them, look assholes, if you can't figure out how to stop shooting eachother, we'll fucking show you. Treat the entire region like children. First nation that fires another shot gets a complete trade embargo. |

UN troops are no different to NATO troops or any others. The function required is more related to cooling a scenario than bombing the shit out of it. A mix of UN forces with a mandate is clearly more appropriate in this scenario and, little doubts, that is the way it is heading. NATO does not represent the international community and it is not an "independent broker". PS Iraq has recently been considering a UN peace force in that country - it's obvious why. US forces were never trained to handle any scenario that involved "firm diplomacy" - this has been demonstrated for decades. Of course, it would let Bush off the hook for the shit he started if that did happen. |

And the Bedouins and all the other people that lived there, like the Palestinians who were displaced when the country was created? It most certainly never belonged to Israel, except from Biblical promises and a hope and a prayer. |
Interesting discussion. I've learned a lot.

If not a mistake, creating Israel in the middle east was most certainly a sub optimal decision. |

and no, they are not speaking the truth, because they (and you) don't know all the facts... and no, you will never understand, so it's not even worth the discussion... :) for a legitimate discussion to occur, the two sides must have SOME common basic assumptions... you're calling my country a mistake, and view me as a land stealer, occupier or whatever.... how can I discuss anything with you? |

No, the Palestinians are being walled in. They also have no control over their borders, air space or sea port. Explain to me how that's not a concentration camp and I'll buy you a beer. |

Oh right, you guys are just looking for fairness. That's why you call all Muslims terrorists and demand that they disarm before begining negotiations. How logical. |

Absorb and learn Sexy - depending on the mandate under which any troops operate is the criteria as to whether they are effective. Currently UN troops in Lebanaon do not have an appropriate mandate and this is currently being addressed. If troops are mandated to hand out "aid packages" - that is what they will do. That is currently not the mandate of UN troops in Lebanon. Where do you get this "effective force" from? Are you now suggesting a fighting force for this region? If so, that is all the US could offer, - but sometimes there is need for some common sense and firmness in negotiating a calm in an area - that does not mean bombing the shit out of it. Basically you are not even qualified even discuss the Middle East - you live in the US and are fed the biggest pile of shit leaving you to form opinions which are both irrelvant and ignorant. Bottom line - you have nothing to offer the Middle East or any other nation. |
