My mother's family is from Pasay, I remember as a child going to a cock fight, but then again, I remember killing chicken for dinner, pigs throats sliced in front of me, and all that great stuff.

As a kid, we used to find spiders, get a straw from the walice (Kind of broom), start the spiders on each side, and the last one left on the straw was winner. It is the culture of the Phillipines, just like Bullfighting in Spain and Mexico. Or even the dog fights they have in the UK, US, etc.
