FACT: There is a 25-year-old kid in an American Military uniform as we speak. This kid is sitting in front of a button with launch codes to something powerful enough to erase the existence of the city that RelishX is posting from. The city can be erased without anyone even seeing a piece of US military equipment. There is a US submarine right now carrying more payload than the total of all bombs exploded in the history of the world.

But, this guy needs to post pictures of dead US soldiers in an effort to make himself think the US military is weak. It helps him sleep at night, because it would hurt moral if his country was actually told how superior the US military is to anyone that is an extreme far 2nd place.

The US never had any intention of occupying North Vietnam, nor did they ever attemp to do so. The US did not accomplish what they desired to accomplish which was the stablization of an independant South Vietnam, so no they did not win. They also did not lose the war as they withdrew from the war in 1973 and turned the war over to the South Vietnamese military and the South Vietnamese military was defeated two years later in 1975.

I don't hide behind the generic term "war." I've been in more than my share of "battles." Ever see "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson? It's the most accurate, most correct movie ever to exit Hollywierd. How would I know that fact? Yeah, how would I? How COULD I?

On that November day, we put 160 men on the ground and faced over 2000+ fresh NVA troops. Guess who won? This happened over and over, through out the conflict, yet pee-greens like you can only settle on the final outcome. You have absolutely NO concept! Lost the war? Yes, the politicians sure did. Lose the battles? Extremely rarely.

I have spent some time in Vietnam and it is called the American War to them. They kicked our asses, one booby trap at a time. They won because they were fighting for something they believed in. We lost because we were just fighting.

The United States will eventually lose in Iraq. We are losing now I believe based on information I get from guys I know who have been there. We may lose some battles, but will lose the war.

You can not win a war against people who have a cause or have nothing to lose. You can also not win a war against an IDEA such as "terrorism" because that idea changes, evolves and can not be painted into a corner. Every attack against Muslim extremist will breed more Muslim extremists. Again... we will lose this war, even if we win some battles.

We Were Soldiers is complete fucking joke, probably made by the Bush administration to boost morale. This absurdly patriotic film is sickening. Obviously the creators of this film haven't read much of the bible (the whole part where you are to forgive your enemies and so forth). Mel Gibson's character is constantly talking about God, however he doesn't seem to realise that if you kill people for a living you aren't a good Christian!

Lt. Col. Hal Moore's (Mel Gibson) speaches were syrupy sweet melodramatic drivel. In fact, much of the dialogue is the same way. This film had none of the reality Platoon had, which is the most comprehensive Vietnam War movie. I've heard many Nam Vets say this.

Regardless of its inherent historical authenticity, this is bar-none one of the WORST war films I've ever seen. Sure, Ia Drang happened. Yep, it happened like this, and ya, the guys all wore these uniforms. And that's where it ends.
Everything else about this movie is hokey, flag-waving, crass Americanism at it's burger-munching worst! Mel Gibson, strutting about John Wayne style through artillery barrages - puhlease! And let's not forget neophyte "lifer" sidekick wannabee officer who eats it heroically - barfbag please... And finally, how about those syrupy-sweet, and likewise sickly simpering war-wives left back home. Never have I been subjected to such a barrage of base emotional manipulation. Indeed, I found myself wishing all these Yanks would die! What a putrid piece of garbage filled from top to bottom with every dead war movie cliche in the hollywood dust bin. Don't waste a nickel on this pure, unadulterated tripe. Of course, if you buy into the lies of American war "heroism" you'll love this. Die for oil, sucker!

I understand that Survival is key at war, and that you HAVE to kill people or you will die, and no one wants to die. But I do believe it was a pointless war, and the government kept sending people there to die.

For sure we lost the war, but that is not to say that it was the soldiers fault. As a military we are supreme as far as tactics, skill and weaponry. There is no argument there. Unfortunately it is men who have never seen a battle who make many of the decisions that dictate the military's actions. We should have never stepped foot into Vietnam, as we should not be in Iraq.

I gotta tell you though, when I went to the war museum in Ho Chi Min City I was completely blown away at the atrocities that I saw in the photographs. I was disgusted as a human and most of all as a citizen if the United States. I have never seen so much carnage and wrong doings by US soldiers in my life. I shit you not when I tell you that I cried, and I was not alone.
