I'm just wondering about Cogent bandwidth, I know that there's quite a few hosts out there that now use it because it's pretty cheap stuff, BUT are there any downfalls with the bandwidth when comparing it to the other bandwidth out there ??

There was a very good thread about by Sinempire http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...t=sinempi re. Basically cogent bandwidth is ok for tgp gallery posting and sites that don't really need to be on Quality bandwidth. They are losing their pier points more and more everyday, and are still in financial problems. If your a serious webmaster and are thinking longevity in the business I would stay away from cogent.
This is my 2 cents and I don't want to start a pissing match with all the cogent providers, Slick asked a question and I just gave my 2 cents. |

I'm glad that I made the decision to stay where I'm at with my dedicated server then, they guarantee a 0% packet loss and have a very stable network and have been very good to me, so that's worth the extra money.
After seeing the cheap prices that Cogent hosts offer, made me think of the extra money I could save every month, but if it's not good for the sites that I run, I wouldn't be saving anything in the long run with all of the problems. Thanks guys |
