The character of Clark Kent was played terribly, but I still liked this Superman movie for it's action sequences and special effects.

Now when Christopher Reeve was superman and they made Superman 2 where he was fighting the three folks with superpowers, that was the shit..I loved it when the woman flipped the manhole cover with her foot and flung it like a frisbee right into superman's stomach and sent him flying.

It is definitely worth seeing if you were a fan of the original movies, especially if you can catch a screening at an IMAX. Even though the action is a bit lackluster, I would still rate it better than superman 2, but not better than superman 1. If you watch Superman Returns, it plays *very* similar to Superman 1 in both theme and substance, and generally the whole feel of it is like watching Superman 1.

That being said, the movie could have been better (but I think any superman fan will think that). Also if you didn't know, Superman Returns takes place about five years after Superman 2. Superman 3 and Superman 4 DO NOT exist, as they never should have, in Brian Singer?s Supermanverse.

i never read a better resume that yours. that explains everything.
But as i didn't see "second", and "returns" and don't remember "first" i will have to watch it still.
