I think my microwave is trying to tell me something

THought I would quickly melt some butter, so put some in a microwave safe measuring cup, turned it on and turned my back to get back to finishing my preps when I heard some popping.

Now, this isn't unusual, liquids will often pop, but I thought it was a little quick to be melted already.

I turned around to see flashes of VERY bright light inside. I think it may be time for an upgrade.

Agreed, time for a new one . . . hope I can find one the same size to fit in the allocated spot.

As far as giving away the old one, I don't think that would be very responsible.

Funny enough I had one start doing the same thing yours did so I turned it into a cheap cd/dvd destroying station in the garage. Only a data recovery center can recover any data from them it so it's perfect for personal use. Just don't breathe in to deep when you open the door afterwards

I have a dilemma here. I have been seriously contemplating tearing my house down, and starting over. That would mean that I would, in all likelihood, have a different location for the microwave.

So, do I buy one now that fits the current spot, or just go without a microwave until I finish the remodeling and see what fits then?

Throw one of your firecrackers in there, tip your kitchen table over, hide behind it and take pictures.

Well if you are seriously thinking about starting over with your house, maybe you should just buy a cheap countertop microwave for now

Actually it is the thought of walking into a Sears that scares me the most.

Order a Panasonic online. Most stores deliver for free online. Many of the Panasonic models can be hung above the stove or under the cabinets. Kit costs around $20. Microwaves are as necessary as computers and nose hair clippers, doggy.
