Ben Wallace is one dumb fucking ******(yea I said it)

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2508742

What a stupid mother fucker. I used to think everybody on the Pistons played more for winning than they did for money. Now this dumb ape is leaving a championship team for a potential 1 day contender, for 1 million more dollars a year. What a piece of shit. I'm not going to use the N word but thats what he deserves to be called. Dismantling a champsion caliber team to make more than 12 million a year, for playing like total shit(how he played last year). Way to go asshole.

48 million for 4 years on a championship team for another 3-4 years, or 52 million for 4 years for a team that will never win again. Ergo, 1 more million dollars a year because he sucked it up this year and would rather make money than win.. That's exactly what he's getting. This is the true sign that all the old school NBA players are gone. Now these apes care about nothing but making money, whether they win or lose.

Lol, you're just pissed cause the Pistons are crumbling. Not sure if you have even looked to see what Chicago has done, but they are close to making a run at the championship. It wasn't just money, Wallace saw that Chicago was young and on the rise, while Detroit is old and on the way down.

all the old school guys didnt make any money. They had no choice, either play and enjoy it or do nothing.

Todays players could care less becase the teams are throwing millions at them.

These players are a business in themeselves. They will try and make every last dime because they know that teams will pay the price.

The Pistons crumbled this year true, but I still maintain that at their best, they have the best starting 5 in the NBA, and one of the best in history. Detroit isn't declining, and they won't for another 3-4 years. Well, maybe sooner with Wallace leaving. Chicago is on the rise, but they are 5+ years away from a championship contender. Why don't you realize the fact that Wallace wasn't going for opportunity, but for an extra 4 million dollars. Maybe he finally realizes that he's a joke on offense and no longer a threat on defense, so he'll take the most money he can get. This is why the new school NBA will always be inferior to the oldschool NBA (teams like the Spurs and the Heat).

Seriously, put down the crack pipe, step back out of your Piston haze you are always in and see things for once objectively. Pistons have the second oldest roster in the league, they'll be lucky to pull out one more 55 win season and then its back to mediocrity. Chicago has the second youngest roster and still has more cap room. They had the best draft, with Tyrus Thomas and Wallace in the middle they are going to be a defensive force.

What's so wrong with a player leaving for more dollars? Wallace and his agent have contended from the beginning that it wasn't all about money, he wanted to be on a team that was moving forward and had a chance to win the championship again. Detroit had their nice little run, but its over. They were certainly not one of the best teams in NBA history and it wasn't their starting five that won for them, it was their depth.

Your references to old school NBA are laughable and you fail to realize all the differences that exist in the league now vs 20 years ago that dictate player movement. The old school NBA you refer to had no salary cap, no unrestricted/restricted free agency and no max salary limits based on years in the league. Its a completely new era from a business standpoint. The reason you see more players changing teams in this era is because the contracts are much shorter because of max limits imposed upon them from the players union/owners agreement. When you come out of college now you can only sign a max 3 yr contract, 20 years ago players used to sign for 6+ years and were tied to that team for the duration of the contract.

You always come across as a whiney uneducated fan who's having a tizzy fit cause his team is going downhill and your racial references only make you appear more ignorant.

Instead of bashing Wallace, why not bash the fucking moron general manager who wouldn't meet what the bulls offered?

Players are not all to blame, some GM's are fucking donkeys to let good players go for nothing. Just look at that idiot GM of the Toronto Raptors who let Vince Carter go for nothing...

In case you missed it, the Bulls gave the Heat a tougher series than the Pistons did in the playoffs. They are young and have one of the best defenses in the game. Now the probably have the best. They just got a year older and more mature and added the #2 pick in the draft as well as the #13 pick who is supposedly a steal. They also have the Knicks first rounder next year too.

Face it, the Pistons window is closing and the Bulls window is opening. The Bulls weakness last year was an inside presence and now they have it.

No chance, they are going to find out how valuable Wallace was to their team. Did they look like a team in their prime during the playoffs?

I'm sure Detroit will find someone during the off season that will beat or match Ben's stats easily.

yup you are way smarter than he is, I mean he is making millions dribbling and shooting a basketball, you are making tens of millions in this industry..... right? I mean your life is infinitely better than his right? He may have all the money and fame but you have a great relationship and he is just filling his emptyness with his flashy bullshit.

They are all apes and inferior to you in every way, yet even with your advanced intelligence they pay more in taxes than you will make this year, the world is sure a funny place.

The other interesting thing is even with their inferiority you hang on their every movement, you follow their lives like a love struck post pubecent wall flower don't you, a losing season will ruin your life hunh......

Sorry, I just love playing devil's advocate, but you are probably smarter than me 2. After all I keep thinking at it from differant ways. As a businessman maybe he knows that one injury can end his career and he better get it while he can. Maybe he has figured out that this is the new days and you probably are not going to be in the league as long as the legends used to be, more hot new guys coming out of highschool. Maybe, just maybe (and i do not believe this myself actually) he is playing and not worrying about being on the winning team. Maybe he wants to see if he can make the team he is going to better? Maybe he is being a sportsman...... But like you said they are all just apes, those thought processes are far to advanced

You don't have a clue. Bulls are getting stronger and stronger by the day. By January this year, they were like the crappiest team in the East (and that means a lot). Then Nocioni unveiled the fucking beat he really is, and even without their so called "star" Chandler they made it up to 6th in the East. Sadly, they faced Miami in the first series. Yet Bulls were the team that made the strongest opposition to them, even without a real Center (unless you consider Chandler's 5 minutes a game, 1 PF per min)

Now, they current roster may look like this:

PG: Kirk
SG: Gordon
SF: Nocioni
PF:Tyson
C: Wallace

that's the fucking best deffensive team in the whole NBA, hands down. Now take a look at the bench:

Duhon
Thabo Sefolosha
Luol Deng/ Khryapa
Tyrus Thomas
Sweetney

not too shabby, huh?

but with Ben's addition, now Bulls are able to trade Chandler and maybe Deng or Gordon. PJ Brown, Troy Murphy, Shawn Marion and Przybilla are the names that sound (even Scola, the fucking best "outside NBA" player whose rights belongs to Spurs, who'll trade Scola+Barry/Nazr/Finley in a heartbeat). This will make them even stronger and leave cap room for the next year.

Then Bulls added 1 mil per year over Piston's offer. 4 millions is not exactly spare change, no matter how rich you are. Sum it all up and try to guess why Ben Wallace signed with Bulls. In case you're missing it, I'll give you the cliff notes: 4 million dollars, better younger team eager to win and with loads of money to make it even better. Doh

Now think about this humble team they'd build

PG: Kirk Hinrich
SG: Gordon
SF: Marion
PF:Nocioni
C: Wallace

that's quite possibly an ECF contendent without a great effort. But hey, what does Bulls' GM knows?

Guess you haven't looked at the free agent pool available nor have any knowledge about Detroits leverage under the cap. Kinda hard to replace the defensive player of the year and top 5 rebounder in the league.

Wow, The Bulls are going to pay Ben Wallace $60,000,000 for 4 years of playing basketball. It is mind boggling how much these professional athletes get payed. Not to mention all the many millions of dollars they makes from endorsements etc.

That's nothing. Contracts used to be bigger than that in the NBA. Also that's not even close to a record for the Bulls. 10 years ago they paid MJ $60 mil for just 2 years.

AH the typical porno pusher's response. You know, there ARE some people in the NBA that want to win more than making an extra 4 million a year, I know that's a hard concept for your minute brain to grasp but it does exist. And I love how all of you lowlife equals jump on the racist bandwagon because I said the n word(omg no way), because of his decision. It was meant as an insult to his intelligence, so the morons who are blindly calling me a racist, pipe down..

Now Lazycash, you talk about Big Ben going to a place where the window is opening, and the Pistons is closing, anyone with common sense knows that Wallace has a few good years left in him, and he has a better chance to win another title with the Pistons, than he does with the Bulls. The Bulls have a lot of potentially good players, but they do not have that 1 leader that could take them all the way. And I like how you take the "it wasn't about the money" comment so seriously. So naive, wake up from your dream world NEO, everybody in the NBA claims its not about the money.. Only a few act on it. The Bulls would most likely be legitimate contenders in 4-5+ years, and by then Ben Wallace will be completely useless, or retired.

very good business decision by wallace. playing basketball is his profession. he has a family and a life, basketball is just his day-job so to speak. i would have done the same thing had i been lucky enough to be in his position.

Consider that the Bulls were one decent big man away from sweeping the Heat this year. The same Heat that went on to win the championship.

They said the same thing about Pudge when he went to the Detroit Tigers ... and look how good they are now.

On the surface, sure it looks like a cash grab. But the Pistons may not be great forever and the Bulls may become a contender with a guy like him and a few others.

Wrong again, the Bulls will contend next year in the east, stop saying 4-5 years. The Bulls have the one leader NOW, Wallace. I didn't take the "it wasn't about money" seriously. just tired of your misinformation that he was only out for money. Pistons are old and on their way down. They didn't get any better in the draft or free agency and they'll be up against the cap next year and unable to improve, its over for them.

They'll most likely lose Hunter also to free agency and Sheed and McDyess say they only want to play 1-2 more years, they're done, put a fork in them. Every team has to go through rebuilding, they took a chance and signed a bunch of veterans and they won with them. However, they didn't develop any young players and are now left with huge salaries and ageing players with declining skills.
