This is correct. The thread starter says "front claws taken out." "Claws" are not "taken out." Their finger joints are. Cut of the ends of ALL YOUR FINGERS and tell me what it's like, ok?

Claws are removed by surgery. No problem

spray feliway on your counch, it should keep them from scratching/marking it

notabook 07-04-2006 07:47 PM

Cats often kill their owners in their sleep. They have also been known in the past to kill babies by smothering them to death with pillows. Occasionally, cats will group together in what is commonly known as a felidae rape gang, in which they will forcibly mate with any human female they see. Did you know that cat fur has been known to induce heart failure in humans? Just last week alone the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have responded to 312 cases of people dying to the deadly motaba virus, commonly carried by cats. Although all cats should be considered extremely dangerous in all circumstances, black cats are overly aggressive when compared to the more docile european cats.

In recent months, the FDA has warned against people using Dextromethorphan while in vicinity of cats as their dander has been known to create hallucinations while using the drug, often times leading to mass hysteria and psychosis. The terror alert was raised to the maximum level today, Hello Kitty Pink, when cats seized control of a munitions lab in Destin, Florida. Do not attempt to engage these cats if seen, it is believed that these felines are armed and extremely dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstance. If you see any of these terrorist kitties, please alert your local homeland security agency as soon as humanely possible.

I'm not going to go thru a shelter... going to go thru a breeder

bangman 07-04-2006 08:05 PM

I don't know...I never had a cat before and I got a kitten about 8 months ago.

I really don't think it's a good idea to declaw though. Just treat her right and gentle and you will not have anything to worry about with her slapping your kid around. A declawed cat isn't going to be able to move around as easy, and from what others have noted here - you might end up with an agressive cat that way.

As far as litterbox training - cats will learn very, very fast. Just pop her in the box and let her know where it is and you will not have any problems.

It is a great product. We have a cat who insists upon tearing up the door jams and Soft Paws are a lifesaver.

Just curious, why not check your local shelter first? They just may have the perfect fluffy declawed cat just waiting to be saved from euthanzia.

!! Gold fish = For the win, though may I suggest not getting a gold fish and something a little more violent that eats gold fish, such as an Oscar fish. Be warned though: Oscars are suicidal. I've had several kill themselves by jumping out of their tank, and one that killed himself by banging his head against the glass so hard he shook his brain loose :(

Morgan 07-04-2006 08:17 PM

if you de-claw, dont plan on letting your cat out of the house.

he/she'll get their asses handed to them by the other pussies

Just a little common sense and intelligence (humanity too?) would have told you amputating claws is cruel. You don't have to be a genius to work it out.

Why are you 'amazed'? To even think it needs doing shows you to be a brainless idiot.

What the fuck though. Attacking and arguing with idiots is never time well spent so I'll bow out. Hopefully if nothing else this thread has made you think twice about getting any pet, let alone a cat.

Why the hell do you want a cat and then remove her claws? That would be considered animal toturing in Europe.....
