Those Who Incorportated: What State and Why?
For those of you who incorporated your adult ventures, what state did you do it in and why did you pick that state? I know Delaware and Nevada are both very friendly states to incorporate in. Just wondering how many of you actually saw it as beneficial enough to warrant registering in a foreign state, domesticating, having two registered agents (one in the formation state and one in your home state) or if you just said fuck it and registered in your home state for simplicity and lower (initial) costs.
Also, please indicate if you actually live in the state you incorporated in, or if you domesticated your foreign corporation in your home state. |

I'm incorporated in my home state. I talked to my accountant and since I'm a S-corp, it does me no good to be incorporated in any other state but my own. My attorney is my registered agent but my name is on everything else (I'm the CEO, CFO and Secretary - I'm damned underpaid).

Good points.
Peaches: Doesn't Georgia have a corporate income tax? Usually thats the reason for incorportating in Neveda or Deleware. Plus, Neveda offers some really nice liability protections for the principals/officers, so I hear. Anyone else? I know its a business thread so if 10 people offer uselful posts that'd be great. I am trying to decide where to plant myself... |
