It's a combination of brand and content that makes companies very successful. Playboy may be the best example.

$8 domains worked great back in 1998, but not so much anymore.

There's alot of sites offering deep content. There's alot more competition now.

A great brand helps to give you an edge.

Google is not a crap name!! It's one word, and very playful. It has spawned "googling" and "googled" and many other uses in our lexicon.

ALSSCAN is another KARUPS. Great content, very profitable business --but with a limited upside due to poor branding. They are leaving lots of money on the table.

IMO the domain is worth 1-3K today.

You're correct that MILF "is not used in everyday sidewalk speech", BUT I hear it referred to a LOT in my travels. That's one of the many reasons why 200+ of my 2,600 registered domains begin with "milf" (plus I have a lot with "Milf" as the second word--e.g., www.homilf.com, www.officemilf.com , www.neighborhoodmilf.com etc).

I'm one of many, many, many milflovers:-)))
