Stupid Scientists! Can't Even Invent A Small Air Conditioner!

Why after decades of air conditioning our scientists can't invent super small air conditioners to cool off a small room? Why are the air conditioners so damned big? Smallest one I've found still weighs 50lbs or more.

because nobody wants to give them billions of dollars to research building a smaller air conditioner so they can spend a quarter of it and pocket the rest

LOL, thread title cracks me up, Scientists??? I think you mean Engineers dont you? Would be interesting though to see what a scientist would come up with though...

There is no market for extremely small air-conditioners for houses. People who live in one room houses cant afford air-conditioning. People who live in 2+ room houses find it more affordable to have a larger air conditioner cool all rooms instead of buying an airconditioner for each room.

Not to mention that homes built in the last half century come with Central AC. You are essentially asking engineers to take a step back and invent something that is several technology cycles old.

Beleive it or not, Smaller air conditioners are actually in use in our society. Its new technology, but refridgerators and cars use technology to control the temperature of the air.

Again, another free lesson for Greg B. I have to stop giving these away free.

Let me get this right.... They can put a man on the moon, but they can't make a small A/C unit?

It's like all the A/C technology is still circa 1960s.

Well great shades of Phineas J. Whoopee! Where's your 3D Blackboard Einstein?

Somehow you extrapolated some irrational bullshit and tried to turn it into some form of invalidation and it's now a useless testament to your throwback logic.

We need smaller units as some of us go camping or work in small out of the way places where a large ass air conditioner is inconvenient and energy inefficient. Oh, but wait, I'm asking WESTERN people who had to have Japan practically run over their car engineering market to make them act efficiently. I'll bet if I surf the Japanese sites I'll find small air conditioners that can be modified.

Take your free lessons and go back to drawing on your cave walls asshat retard.

As having worked for my dad in the heating and cooling business since I was barely walking, I can safely say the only place you will find what you are looking for is Japan. There is no demand for it here in the U.S. I have dual zone heating and cooling. Two furnaces and two airconditioners. One for upstairs, one for downstairs. I prefer the noice of an A/C unit to be outside my house, not cranking along as Im trying to watch a movie, or... think. lmao

Students. Old people. People who cant lift 50 pounds. People who live in apartments.
People who live in large cities and don't have space.

If it were on the market it would sell big here

Fucking outstanding! Just perfect for tool shed, camping tent, RV, Conversion van! Saves energy too! If the Roshgo had a cartoon on it it would be perfect! Guess I gotta go buy me some Space Ghost stickers!

The Daewoo are amazing! Problem is the website doesn't give enough info like weight and price. I guess we gotta buy one from an outlet or friendly distributor or something.

See? It's like I said earlier when FunForOne added his assinine two fucking cents and made a jerk out of himself.

Fucking condescending shitheel.

I knew probably some Japanese company would be thinking ahead. They're always ten years ahead of US designers because US designers are fucking lazy. We come up with a new idea, make the most expensive and inefficient application of it and figure we can rest on our laurels. Milking people for decades off of a technology and while we sit on our asses til the sun bakes biscuits in our asses the Japanese come along, whup us like a shoe chewin' puppy and then all of a sudden we're working in their factories.

Just like stem cell research. Here our scientists couldn't get funding for research and look what's happened. While we're still curing rats who have paralysis, the Chinese have customers rolling in and out of the hospital cured of paralysis faster than the turn around time at McDonalds.

it would be really cool if motorcycle manufacturers made very small AC units for bikes. it just needs a hose to attach to a rider's jacket to keep his upper body cooler in hot weather, so it wouldnt need to be a large unit at all.

That would be a hook up like no other! Good idea! I'll bet there's something in Japan. I don't know how some racers can stand that heat. I know NASA has cooling system suits and some other environmental challenges have cooling units but it's difficult to crack the secrecy.

man thanks for that link... i'm seriously thinking about ordering one of these. Only $495 and if it gives me back the 2 - 3 months of riding that I normaly miss because its too damn hot during the summer then its well worth the money.
