I think they are religious people who do not believe in god, because the crap they spout over and over does not require any facts or logic. Rather, it seems to be purely based on faith and feelings.

?? Religious people that DON'T believe in god? Was that a mistype?

I ask because you described perfectly any religious person I've ever tried to debate. Throw facts at them till your blue in the face, but the word of their god means more than any encyclopedia.

Webby has only posted informative stuff that I have seen. Thoughtful person over all so not sure what the beef is but it might be a narrow subject versus an overall chip on his shoulder.

Oh no, I realize that. But the statement seemed to be very specific about religous people who DON'T believe in god, as opposed to ALL or most religious folk.

That's why I was asking.

Here's what I mean.

Religious people have their beliefs because they FEEL and have FAITH for those beliefs. Logic and facts do not come into it, because their FEELINGS and FAITH are above facts and logic. Their belief is the truth, and all facts and realities must be extrapolated or invented to fit those beliefs. These people are the most closed-minded of all people.

People like DirectFiesta are on the hard lefty loony fringe of the political spectrum, and it has been known to those of us who CAN know, that people like that behave exactly like religious people, with the exception that god is not involved.

Hence, hard lefty people like DirectFiesta are religious people who do not believe in god.

_____

The funny thing is though, that if you give someone like DirectFiesta a task to complete they are usually able to do it (in this respect they are just like intelligent people). But, if you ask them to think for themselves then more often that not they will be totally wrong, because like I said above, the FEELING they have must be true and everything else must be made to fit the fake reality that that FEELING creates for them.

It's not only hard lefties who have this peculiar way of thinking. There are some on the far right as well as scattered elements throughout the political spectrum who share this disability. BUT, it is by far the most prevalent in people who are on the hard left.

Okay, gotcha Lazonby.

I said the word of their god, you said their own beliefs or feelings. Basically a belief that can't be proven or dispelled. That's pretty much the same imo, so I'd have to agree. Not about the specific people you mentioned, because I don't know, but certainly the TYPE of person.

People who are in the know, know that facts and logic always come above the 'feel good factor'.

For example, there are many women out there who stay with boyfriends or husbands who abuse and hit them and when asked why they stay, the reason is often (if not almost entirely), "because I love him". That's an example of where feelings fail.

Another example. A friend of mine was once talking to me about ghosts and spirits. I asked her why she believed in them and she said "because I FEEL them". I pointed out that feeling something doesn't necessarily mean it is true but that didn't mean anything to her. As long as she felt something, it was real. I only wish she FELT that there was a billion dollars waiting for me in my bank account.

Another example. A friend of mine stated that even though he knew that an 'afterlife' couldn't logically exist, he still believed in it because it "OFFERED HOPE".

In DirectFiesta's case, it is obvious that he is intelligent, but he is persistently wrong when talking about real life issues. So in his case, either he has some disability which causes him to put his feelings above what his brain can work out, or he knows damn well he is wrong but pretends otherwise.

Ah, and there is the ONE aspect of religion that I actually don't mind. not so much the afterlife example, but the "Hope" example.

People gain strength in their own ways, and who am I to say that if they gain strength or "Hope" from a religion, that it's wrong. I don't necessarily agree with it and certainly don't believe it, but I'm also not going to begrudge someone else's beliefs. Especially if they think it makes them better people and they gain comfort from it.

Logical or not, if it helps them get through life, WITHOUT imposing their views on others and looking down on those that don't believe, I'm all for it.

edit-HOWEVER, IF that underlying belief causes you to lose all sense in everyday life, THEN I believe it's going to cause you more problems than it's worth.

Webby is what happens when you give internet access to a retarded kid's classroom.

Well that's great, but it represents a failure of the individual to rely on feelings when the truth is out there. Wouldn't it be greater still if people could be brave and honest enough to accept reality rather than believing in their own whims. How the world would improve..........

Maybe people could be taught that it's better to accept truths than believe in utter rubbish.

Anyway, like you said, if someone wants to be an idiot and believe in rubbish because it makes them feel better then fine, but the problems arise when people start believing in hard left rubish or religious rubbish, which then causes them to work against the good of humanity. See current world events as evidence - we have a successful jihad against us which is being enabled by people with hard left views who think that the Islamic religion can't possibly be a bad thing, despite all of the evidence to the contrary.

lol, don't get me started on all that's WRONG with religion. I mentioned what I believe is the ONLY aspect with which I can empathize.

I'll add this from Wintalk in the manatee thread who quoted someone else:

"A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be."
- Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a man who was born into a religious and ignorant world but who was able, brave and honest enough to work out the real reality of the world for himself.

As time goes on, there are less and less like him. Instead, we seem to live in a world of appeasers, religious nutters and people who just don't care one way or another.

sure, we can start as soon as you tell me what you do in this business and then grab a quote were I've mixed business with politics.

You're right, I probably won't find a thread where you mix business and politics since it would probably take a while to find a business thread you're involved in. I typically come here for business threads, I didn't realize this was a political board. My bad.

And in answer to your question, I promote several affiliate programs.

Best of luck with your new program.

too bad you come at me because of your political preferances. I've been doing business in adult since 98. I do business with people acrossx the political spectrum. As business people, we never let political chat interfer with business.

Yet here you are, wanting to make some dopey point in a thread I started.
here's a clue, I have the longest none incentivised business thread to ever grace this board. I gave my best advice to all who asked.

your dopey point about coming here for business threads might have meaning if it weren't for all the "I'd hit it" threads you're strangely silent about.

here's a piece of advice from someone who's made millions in this business, pissing up at the people who've done something in this business never looks good to the other people who've done something in this biz.

it is however a big hit with the rabble. in who's eyes do you want to shine?

Right, unlike your responses to people. Everything you say is well thought out and meaningful. Not to mention mature. You're a modern day Dostoevsky.

How many times can a man laugh at his own (unfunny) jokes in a single thread anyway? You remind me of that psycho computer geek from the movie "Grandma's Boy". Do you dress like the Matrix and talk in a robot voice to yourself?

Anyone who refuses to believe that they've ever been wrong about anything has a serious mental disorder. Just thought you should know that.

can you say the same?

All from the same two page thread. And not even close to all of this clown's stupid posts in it.

anyone who thinks being a board troll is some type of accomplishment is a bigger mental disorder.

I never dismissed the fact that this board is packed with worthless "I'd hit it" threads, so I'm not quite sure where you're trying to go with that.

And for all these years, here I thought one could be successful without running an affiliate program. Thanks for enlightening me. How "dopey" of me!

Again, best of luck with your new program.
