HELP! Getting totally rid of Norton???

Ok I've tried it all - it won't come off - it keeps coming back and causing problems for me. What do I have to do to get rid of it?
The only thing left in Add/Remove is the LiveUpdate which gives me an error when I try to remove it.

Try one of their remove tools on their website. Make sure to get the correct one that works for what ever version you had/have installed. You can also go through the registry manually, searching for *Symantec* and *Norton* and removing the keys etc that pop up with them.

It was a last resort but afraid that since that crap was pre-installed it would give me problems.

If you are reffering to the Windows Firewall, you can disable that in control panel by turning it to off. I think its called Firewall.
