photoshop gurus

whenever i work on a new image or copy and paste an image into photoshop, the image has this light pink overlay. i can get rid of it by using view >> proof colors to get the image back to its original colors. has anyone else delt with this problem before? how do i fix this?

Is this in ALL new files or the same one? The only thing that comes to mind is that you have the 'quick mask' feature on.

To check, open your 'channels' pallette and see if you have a 5th layer called quickmask.

Also make sure when you create a new file that your color mode is on RGB and Color Profile is 'Working RGB'
