Which "Tech Sector" companies profit most from porn?

I'm talking about large publicly held tech companies here...

How much equipment, software, bandwidth, and various services people do people have to buy JUST to be able to FIND and USE online porn? Those companies obviously profit from this industry too. AOL, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco? Who else?

Where are their REPS to work with us? How do they know what would be best for everyone, including us? Do they even care? If one of those companies abuse this industry, we'd collectively whine about it, but that's IT.

In my opinion, they are all doing some things that help and some that hurt our industry. Is there is already an open channel to these companies? If not, why not? If there is, can you at least let us know you care by making yourselves more available?

Some of those companies do work with adult, inderectly, through other companies. The while "adult" connection isn't something they care to be out in the open :-/

They are like unicorn. Everyone has heard of them, but never actually seen one.

Think they are here? Met anyone yourself? Can you send over a phone number?

And I understand they might want to be very private, I wouldn't want anyone to know I work with them either. (They might think badly of ME!)

haha

I will give a rough example, and contact you privately for the "direct" info if this company sounds like it suits a need you may have.

<example>

A well known and very large credit bureau that provides real-time fraud screening for companies (companies like say, cam sites that are prone to large amounts of fraud) will not deal directly with an adult company. However, they have a sister-company that will deal with a non-adult holdings company which may own and/or operate an adult company.

</example>

Also some software companies have reps on some large software boards that are willing to lend a hand or ear if it means they can use the information they may get access to for the application to improve there own products, even if the application in question is adult in nature.

none of those mainstream companies want anything to do publicly with porn. you should know that steve. if the public found out they had ANY connection with porn, that company would be fucked (no pun intended)

#1- I think Communications companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Level3, Cogent, Savvis, etc make the most money from this industry.

Well, why would they need to work with the online adult industry? It's like any other industry online. It wouldn't make sense for Dell to start producing new line of servers catering to online porn or a communications company to lay down 'porn only' fiber across the world. All companies that make up the global communications market cater to the entire spectrum: from the one-man operation that began yesterday to the multi-gazillion dollar corporation like Playboy.

If I didn't make any sense, it was probably because I misunderstood your question.

Any telecom business in which mass amounts of bandwidth are sold from. Second, and this is for the future, any company dealing with robotics. Robots designed for sex are just around the corner (ok, they won't be perfect) and the first company to develop them is going to make *billions*. It's a well known fact that porn has been the motivation every major technological advancement in human history, from the wheel to styrofoam cups. Robots are no exception... why do you think there is such a rush from scientists to build robots and make them look more humans? So that they can fuck them.

ISP, Search Engins, Software Companies all make money in porn, have sales reps soly for this industry and we work with them all most every day, but no one will come forward or give money to FSC etc. Every one wants us to sign 10 page NDA's which we have done to give that competivie advantage in biz

I might see the appeal to the hot-female-looking robot that has a "robot does all the work for me" setting! Better yet, two or three with a "I'm a lezzie slut too" advanced setting.

haha, brilliant

Custom software development and ISP's selling the bandwidth, especially with the HD porn coming along - it's just going to eat more and more

Holy cow... an actual "bizness" thread. Mr. Lightspeed, you bring up a good point. I'd have to say that "their REPS" aren't concerened with "real" internet traffic. (Everyone knows why the internet was created).

You're going to waste your time (IMHO) soliciting contacts from SE's. But where you may be advised would be to start working with hardware providers and BW providers that have an interest in "major" customers.

The "open channel" you refer to if one that is made....... I will ponder this for a bit. Contact me with questions.

Why would they expose themselves? They make the money regardless.

Porn is the dirty little thing that is taken care of quietly. They do all the research in a dark room, and only a few know about it.
