ex-smokers

I haven't had a cigarette in 6 day's. I been using the patch. It's not as difficult as I thought but my nerves are shot. It seems like everything irritates me now, does this get any better with time?

Yes. It took me almost a month to stop acting like what my wife called "a psychotic bitch on her period".

It is weird though - it will almost happen over night and you'll soon start feeling better and also start feeling better about everything. Things that bothered you when you smoked no longer will, sex is better, food tastes better (or worse :P), thinking actually becomes more clear etc. etc. Your whole life will be better soon.

I just went through this a few months ago so the changes are pretty fresh in my head.

Good luck - hard part is almost over.

I agree with the above. I quit almost a year and a half ago and I'm sooooo happy I did. I used to love smoking and did it for 20 years. Now I look back and can't believe I ever liked it at all.

I quit several years ago after three years of smoking and it was the best thing I did.

I hated smoking so it was easy for me to give up, I just did it cause it was cool and everyone else was then I realised it wasnt cool, it's rather stinky and gave up...You will feel better in yourself in a few more week so stick to it mate and well done for trying!

Just hold in there and don't start back again and you'll see that it gets a lot easier with time. About three years ago I quit for 4 months, but started smoking again. Big mistake...

I went cold turkey myself about a year and a half ago. I will sometimes have a cig or two but it's hard for me to finish a whole cig. The best thing to do is keep that will power alive. After another week or two you should be a lot better. Try going to the gym or for a run or something you will feel a lot better.

I quit back in mid-March.

Was on the patch for the whole 10 week period.
Yes, I had a few bad days in there, but I stuck it out.
Cravings come sometimes, but I just ignore 'em.
