Damn I can't get a break with DMOZ!!!

I've submitted my site and waited and waited and waited...WTF I think that the editor for that area has retired or something. Any suggestions on how to get them to do anything? I did everything like they said and I have not resubmitted the same site a million times either. Maybe someone has something against my product? Maybe he editor works for my competition? I just don't get it.

Any tips?

I think a lot of editors and other participants in the project have lost their enthusiasm for it- so it goes very slow now, when it goes...

You need to find top editor you can pay off, thats how its work now
Normally it go for 250$/url for competitive categories.

If its for dating category , sell your house, cars and wife because its fucking expensive.

Thanks for the input. I'm glad I'm not on there if google doesn't like 'em.

My father who is on of the leading Ergonomics experts in the world was denied being the editor of the Ergomics section as they believed he maybe self promoting. He is still in the navy, what the fuck is he going to promote?

No-one really rates DMOZ anymore.

DMOZ clone sites... may be banned from Google..DMOZ itself, doubtful.

I submitted a site that also had visitor monitoring in effect. I saw the DMOZ editor checking out our site (because we monitored all visitors). I hit him up.. he was impressed that I knew who he was..and boom.. listed.

Granted, I was lucky to be online and monitoring our site when he checked us out. DMOZ editors are alive and adding sites. Keep trying.

I can consult you on how you can monitor and proactively chat with the surfers on your websites. Just ask me.

Wow that's crazy! I would say I can't believe that but the more I read/hear I can believe it.

Do you have any other suggestions since it seems like I don't even want to be listed on DMOZ?

As this person stated, DMOZ is corrupt beyond belief. Find an editor you can pay off. You'll have to pay $250 - $500 per listing, depending on the category. Otherwise, you're just asking a DMOZ editor to list you for free so your listing can compete with his. Not going to happen.

ugh does not Google own DMOZ? thought they bought it, the editors are not there, or run it for themselves, they won't add links, i found a guy on icq in a cat and he could not even give me a valid reason why he wouldnt add my site, he said too many similiar sites, yet there was only 9 sites in the directory... i bitched him out and made him feel like an asshole for 5 hours,
he didnt give a shit he was milking all the traffic for himself..
