:mad anybody had problems with ebay or paypal?

I just had my first auction on ebay go bad on me. The worst part I gave the guy more than 45 days to ship it to me before complaining to Paypal and they say there's nothing they can do. "I'll send you a guide to prevent this from happening again" the support chick said, I basicly told her to "fuck off and refund my cash". She promptly hang up after that exchange.

I filed an Ebay dispute where the fuckface seller says he never recieved any money from me.

Paypal has a Buyer protection policy:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...p-info-outside

Dispute it with Paypal to get your money back and remember Paypal people are clueless when it comes down to trying to think of ways to help its members. Everytime you are on the phone with them you have to talk very slowly and use words that do not have more than 6 letters in them or they get confused and hang up on you.

Too long.

I give it a week or so at the most before i start pestering them. If they don't come up with the goods or a good answer, i'm on it right away...

Actually after 45 days it's no good.

Buyer disputes must be filed within 45 days of the payment. If you would like to file a claim you must escalate your dispute into a claim no later than 20 days from the date you filed your dispute. Even if the buyer?s claim is justified, the buyer will receive a recovery only if there are funds in the seller?s account. RECOVERY OF YOUR CLAIM IS NOT GUARANTEED.

Oh oops, didn't read your post correctly... 45 days?! What the hell were you smoking? Online, you have to be vigilant. Either they scam you or you get what you paid for.

Did you pay with funds already in your PP account or did you fund it from a credit card? If you funded it with a credit card, call up your credit card company.

I live in Iceland, there's no way it can make it here in a week! Besides he said he had trouble sending it, said the package was returned to him.

After giving up on him sending it to me I wanted a refund, which he promised to deliver to my paypal account.

How did he try to send the package? It must have had some sort of tracking number on it - ups, fedex, dhl - all have international tracking. If he didn't give you that info, he's just full of bullshit and you got scammed. Hope it didn't cost too much.

well, you learn from your mistakes. Stay away from low feedback'd sellers and always use common sense.

For me and a bud, ebay has been a total pain in the ass recently. We have tried to keep our account at 100% positive feedback but just came into our first major snag... an asshole sold him a defective phone, and guy claims it was working great when he sent it out and is probably going to give him hell, so if my friend tells paypal and gets the money back via dispute, he'll prolly get a negative feedback on our account from that douchebag... and since the only way to really get a negative feedback removed is through a court of law, it fucking sucks

yeah fuckers bid and dont want to pay me for several auctions. Ebay make you wait forever and its Just a hassle to get the listing fees back. Ebay lost a few big sellers because of this. Never had a problem with paypal

should always use a CC when paying for stuff on ebay, especially if you're buying from the new seller or someone with sketchy feedback.

Paypals protection is worthless. The dispute system is long winded and is really just an excersize in getting you to give up. Sadly, when you're buying from strangers, sometimes you get burned.

Oh, so you did send the payment via visa->paypal->scammer?

All you have to do is call the number on the back of the card. Won't take you but 5 minutes to initiate the chargeback although it may take you a month or so to actually see the true credit back (credit card bank may give you a temporary credit until chargeback has been processed).

Also, email the bastard and tell him that you are doing a chargeback with your credit card company and quote him the following:
Quote:
If the seller loses a Buyer Claim or a chargeback dispute and does not qualify for the Seller Protection Policy, the seller will owe PayPal for the amount of the reversed transaction. In the case of a chargeback, sellers who do not meet the requirements of the Seller Protection Policy will also owe a $10.00 USD chargeback fee.

They should give some decent support and feedback to keep their customers. They just lost me as a customer at least.

I did pay with a credit card and of course I will charge every penny back. I would post the link of the auction page but that would make me a spammer apperantly. :D

I once sold this guy about $2300 worth of pop-under traffic, so I send him the traffic and everything, 3 months later paypal takes the money away from me, and tells me that the paypal account they used was stolen. They could of told me sooner, don't know why it took them that long. I was so pissed.

Paypal has up to half a year to do whatever the fuck they want with YOUR money, it's more retarded than a disney ice show. They can lock all your funds for 180 days for no apparent reason and short of a court order, you are sol.
