Blog Spam...
I get like 200 automated blogspam comments on my blog every day all for cialis and viagra and shit. I've heard SEGuru is spamming blogs to get listings.
If I every met the person behind this I would personally strangle them. I like having interactivity on my blog but sorting through 200 fake comments a day gets annoying. What do you do to cut down on this shit? |

i was given some great advice on this
if you're using wordpress - add a few words to the ban list for comments ie cialis in your case.

Jay - there are plenty of automated programs out there to spam blogs - and I doubt SEGuru (if hes doing it at all) is the only one LOL - if you require a signin - and like was mentioned an ocr it should cut down on it alot - and add to your mailing list for a newsletter - see everything has a silver lining

Try the plugin I posted. It's free, you just need a free API key from WP.com. Real users hate OCRs and there is no blacklist of words or urls to update. Plus it learns from the whole WP community virally real fast. The only way it won't work is if you are the only blog the person is spamming, which isn't very likely.
