Sharpie/LAJ: getting a hotel to "play ball" with the adult industry I think is one of the hardest things to do these days. Many will say "yeah yeah" and when push comes to shove, they don't want to know.
This case is the worst, because the new owners I guess just don't have a clue. Instead of accepting and encouraging good paying business from people who can afford to do it, they stuff their knickers in a knot morality into the situation and make it almost impossible to deal with. I think I will cross that entire city off my travel list. Good on you all for pulling off the show regardless Alex |

Forgive me for interrupting the lovefest but I have a few comments on the hahaha8220;showhahaha8221;.
First, as memory serves the Cybernet Expo was held at the same hotel last year. The same hotel with the same horrific service, separation of attendees across two lodging areas split by a large parking lot and the same facility issues such as faulty plumbing, musty rooms, etc... Why was this location chosen again? Several people made negative comments after the last Cybernet and despite all the assurances given that corrections would be made; the hotel was worse this year. As I see it the sponsors who rallied to make last minute changes in venue and or event deserve major credit in pulling their events off. If I were one of them I'd be demanding a refund on my sponsorship; especially if I were the happy hour sponsor CE, whohahaha8217;s yellow paper cutout hahaha8220;drink ticketshahaha8221; did not even include their program name. Rest assured they had Cybernet Expo on them however. Additionally, the attendee's deserve a few accolades for pulling of this "show". In stead of throwing a fit over the monster which Cybernet themselves created by not changing locations everyone made the best of it by finding other activities away from the "show", as the group I was with did, or just grinning and bearing the ridiculous rules should they decide to stay round the hotel. Cybernet turned out to be a good time but the only credit I can give the organizers is Davehahaha8217;s trickery to get me to pickup my badge. After waiting 10 minutes for the bartender at the sponsored happy hour to calculate the cost of two beers Dave asked me if I was preregistered (which I was) and insinuated that it wouldnhahaha8217;t have taken as long if Ihahaha8217;d picked up my badge. Wowhahaha8230;.how my badge would have helped him calculate the cash I was using to pay is beyond me, but I digress. Strangely enough, the next time the colleague I was with attempted to order from the same bartender he was told they couldnhahaha8217;t serve anyone without a badge. Well done, Dave. Those of you who know me know that Ihahaha8217;m a very laid back guy who takes all issues in stride and I honestly had a good time at this hahaha8220;showhahaha8221; as long as I was away from the communist rule of the hotel but I think ithahaha8217;s completely wrong for the organizers to come out of this smelling like a rose and not making amends for the issues they created. Jay put a nice spin on APN Philhahaha8217;s cancelled thread but it was nothing more than a spin. Ihahaha8217;m off my soapbox and for those of you ready to type hahaha8220;if you donhahaha8217;t like it, donhahaha8217;t gohahaha8221;hahaha8230;..you read my mind. John |

Forgive that last post....apparently vbulletin doesn't like using outlook as a spell checker. This one should be a bit easier to read.

This was my first CyberNet event. I had a great time and made many valuable contacts. The seminars were great and I picked up several new ideas.
Kudos to the whole gang.

typical hotel bullshit game playing. they want your money and then the bullshit "rules" start flying after the contracts are signed. i've done tons of events at hotels in san diego. new years eve events etc etc. they want the draw of people with the wallets and they want to take the money from those wallets. that is the bottom line here. everyone who attended was treated like a lower class citizen because you all work in the porn business. your money is good enough for them but not the way you make it. wonder how many of the hotel workers and management are members of your sites and whack off to your content while their wife is in the living room crocheting a bonnet for the baby? hypocrites. i'm sick of the usa PC bullshit. thank god you got a contract from them.
