We have a 100 Mbit connection here, but I never get the full speed. I think the max I have had is about 3500KB/sec (28Mbit?) while downloading directly from a server (ftp). On websites it usually doesn't get any faster than 1500KB/sec. Still nothing to complain about though ;-) And the good thing is that up is the same speed as down, so uploading content with 2500KB/sec is great, because with adsl it's like 1 Mbit max (125KB/sec)
