When I was about 13 I was working in my father's sign shop, cutting stencils at an easle with an X-Acto knife for some airbrushing (ahhh, my sordid past). I was talking to this guy Rick who was at the easle behind me, and swinging the knife around as I talked...

Next thing I know, I turn back to my work and S L I C E ! -- The knife (and those fuckers are sharp) sliced into my eyeball.

Let's just say I wasn't too happy. Nothing like slicing open your eye and then getting it flushed with saline for 3 hours while it's held open with some grips. Mmmmm, mmmm...

That one just about beats the story my friend told me about how he fell in the shower when he was younger, and bit half his tongue off.

So uhm... what's the worst injury you've ever had?

Stress Fraction in my Lower Back.

And so stupid I kept playing tennis on it while trying to hoble around the court, Was in Aussie at the time.

Fell through a glass table bracing myself I put my hands out in front of me fisting the ground and slicing deep into my knuckles wrists and my palms mostly... luckily only one major slice, 1/2 inch glass slices deep, through the chunky part of your thumb ;) dont remember how many stitches, loved the pills.

Other than that, never broke a bone, dont bruise easily no car accidents.

I was mountainbiking about 10 years ago, when I was fit and flexible. A stick went between my 'rims' and I stopped in a zip, and fell over the bar. Surprisingly I put my hand in front to protect my head etc. There was this piece of wood sticking from the ground, and my hand hit it. It went straight through my hand. That was nasty.

i was on holiday in ibizia with the ladz, just came bnack about 8am in morning from all night partying collapsed on the bed and had about 1 hours sleep we then got up and decided to hire some mopeds. Crusing down some hills etc and stopped for a drink so I decided to take my top off to catch a bit more sun. 10 minutes later i went burning down an hill and went to press my brake but unfortunately hit the back brake sending me flying off the moped onto the gravel.

cutting my chin, scraping all my legs arms, shoulders, back etc - - had to get back on the moped and drive for 30 minutes with blood pouring off me, police came by and just carried on, finally got to hospital but spent rest of holiday only 2 dayz in bed! year later still have the scars all over me.

Deep 2nd, nearly 3rd degree burns over almost 20% of my body. Mostly my left arm and things where I still have plenty of very noticeable scars from the burn.

You could see way down in my flesh and see all sorts of neat and nasty stuff. One big mass of red charred flesh and stuff! I showed my boss some pictures after a couple weeks and he nearly threw up!!

Funny thing was I was like all happy and shit cause even though it was nasty I could see some of the progress on the healing and was rather excited about it!! And besides i was rather used to looking at it!! The physical therapy sucked ass cause you've got to rub off all of the dead flesh that you loosen up every day in therapy so it can heal. When the nerves first start growing back....

THAT was the worst!!

80mph on a dirt road, swerved to miss a damn rabbit, rolled the car, hand went out the window, car landed on hand, big ouchies.. worst part was i had to run up hill nearly 1500metres to my house with a squashed hand which i'd bandaged with my fav jacket..

Just glad i use my left hand to jerk off with =)

This is tame:

Blowing out my knee while playing football, tore the ACL as I was about to go in for a tackle , felt the femur slide forward over the tibia and then I blacked out, and woke up right afterward with the paramedics staring down at me.

Oh I also caught my thumb in a wood splitter, thought I only nicked it, pulled out my hand and there was all this blod and I looked at my thumb and all I could see was the bone in the middle and the nail was gone and the flesh was peeled back like a banana. Didn't hurt that much.............................

Driving one nite about 2am down a two way road , a drunk fucker skips the median right into my car head on...my head flys through the window , i black out for a split second look up see this drunk fucker reverse and flee and i realize ive just been hit head on.... i pulled my head through the window thinking to myself "jezuz thank god im ok" then i feel warm warm liquid dripping down my face.. i feel my forehead and notice there is a 1 and 1/4 inch deep by 3-4 inch wide gash in my head. I started to feel like i was going to pass out so i tied my shirt around my head and used the rest of my energy to get to a pay phone. Made it , called 911 ,ambulance came took me to ER where a minister was there who was waiting for my parents to get there so he could read my last will and testament. Surgeons operating on me , no one answered me when i askeed "am i going to be ok?"
(i am totally wide awake during all this)
Finally they realize i might be ok. I lost 3.5 pints of blood and had a 95% chance of death. Some how made it through and now have a small scar on my forehead. The drunk was never found.

hmm injuries aye....? I must have broken all bones in my body
at least once....too much to all write it down here...but the worst
one I will share....

When I was younger I was a prof Motocross rider. At age 17 I
finnished second in the European Championships and then moved
the next year to compete for World Championships in Grand Prix.

During my first year offcourse I had to fight hard to get even
qualified...80 drivers for each GP 45 only start. After missing
the first couple of races due to non qualify it slowly went better.
The first season not too much injuries I qulified for only 3 GP´s.

My second season started better. I qualified for the first 3 races
but was still strugling in the back of the pack....but I was not
doing bad....to race with the best 45 drivers from the world.

4th Race shit went wrong. Ironically it happened in the country
I recently moved to...Spain. Grand Prix of Spain in Osuna.
Very tricky circuit on a mountain...I qualified 32nd.

In the first heat....I was coming down a straight end topspeed.
At the end there was a small jump but it went downhill steep
so the trick was to hit the brakes before the jump in order to
let the bike fall downhill and land 20 meter below on the slope
to break the fall and then another downhil a bit smaller....
it´s like a GIANT stair.

Ok when I wanted to close the throttle and hit the brakes. My
throttle wouldn´t close so instead of dropping downhill I got
rocketed over the jump.....never saw the middle piece of the stair.
Luckily I landed on the bike.....which broke...I got unconsinous
and woke up from a coma 6 weeks later.

Damage:

a lot of broken bones, 6 broken ribs from which 2 puntured
my left lung. Bones in my feet totally crushed....I still limb from
that. Damaged 2 bones in my neck and 3 in my back....(broke)
Both Keybones were broken, Broken leg....a piece of bone
went through my skin....so open fracture....Tore both knee
legiments...(not the first time) and offcourse I was totally
bruced.

6 months hospitalisation. 1 year revalidation in a rehab centre.
I had to learn how to sit, stand, walk again....basically I was
back being a baby...I couldn´t do shit myself. At first they thought
I was paralised from my neck down but luckily I wasn´t after 4
months I could feel and move parts of my lower body again.

Ok this was the end of my racing carreer hehehe as you can
understand. I have at least 4 pounds of extra weight due to
stuff that was mounted inside me to keep the shit together.

Right now I can do most stuff again...only running is a big no no
I limb a little but that´s the only thing that is left....except from
numerous scars offcourse.

Did I ever ride a bike again....yes I love it...I´m not afraid it
didn´t hurt crashing since all lights went out....!

Cut the tip of my thumb off on a band saw in shop class.. Right off.. I picked it up and put in a paper towel and had the doctors put back on..

Broke my collar bone twice, Cracked my skull open when I was 8, broke my hand on some dudes face in a hockey fight, broken wrist, my buddy broke my nose goofing around and I dropped a big glass coke bottle on my toe and busted that..

Shit man now that I think about it I'm a fucking walking accident waiting to happen.

Wasn't the worst... but it was memoriable.

I put this drill

Thru the index and middle fingers of my left hand. I tore out the digital nerves, severed tendons, and drilled bone. It fuckin happened fast!!

When you sever, and rip out nerves, you lose all feeling. There really was no pain, since I had cut the nerver that should be sending impulses to my brain telling me there should be pain. I remember feeling like my fingers were in a bowl full of jello. I could feel squishyness between the bones and the skin. I didn't know what that was. Later it was explained as the rest of my hand feeling the sensation of having sebvered the nerves.

So I couldn't feel the fingers moving from those two fingers, I could feel it everywhere else in my hand, which felt like my whole hand was in a bowl full of Jello. (that's the only way I can describe it)

These photos were immediately after coming home from micro surgery to repair digital nerves and tendons.
The Dr. said "Keep this bandage on for two weeks"
I said "ok"
I immediately came home, pulled it off, and snapped photos!

These are just a few of the pics.

The purple ink is from where I initialed the fingers to be fixed. They were real worried, since just a few months before some Dr., someplace else in America had amputated the wrong leg from a guy.
Hardly hand micro surgery, but better to be safe than sorry.

I still have no feeling in my index and middle fingers of my left hand. When I touch them with my right hand, it feels like someone else is touching them thru several layers of gloves.

I broke my elbow in various ways playing soccer, I finished the game scoring a few more goals. Had to have spikes in it for months, in order for things to heal properly. The surgeon guy promised it would heal up fine but it still looks fucked now years later. I still have those spikes in a little jar down in the basement. I've also nearly cut my arm (the other arm) off wrecking a car, and I managed to get three fingers stuck in some machine when I was working in a factory, they were semi-crushed but they look alright now I guess, just can't open bottles with'em. One of my cats freaked out one time, tore me up pretty bad. This last thing happened a few times actually

Worst injury i ever had was only a broken jaw. I was cycling back when i was hmm... i must have been about 11 or 12.. And i must have hit a rock or something, 'cause the front wheel just flicked to one side and sent me over the handle bars.

Landed face first on the road.

Got up, started laughing. Thought that was pretty funny. About 5 seconds later, when the pain hit me, and i noticed the blood, wasn't so funny anymore.

Smashed most of my front teetch, burst both lips, and broke my jaw in 3 places.

I remember walking home too. My brother was there, so he ran ahead to tell my mom. At that time, the woman across the street drove by, smiled and waved at me. To this day, i still can't believe that bitch just kept driving. My entire front was covered in blood. It was obvious i was in need of a little motherfucking attention!

Luckily, another one of our family friends from across the road drove by shortly after and picked me up. All i remember was apologising for getting blood in his new car. Hehe.

And shit, this reminds me of when i lived in South Africa. My mom worked as a secretary in some factory.. This guy put a chisel through his hand, and everyone fuckin' laughed at him. Even the guy was laughing himself! A few weeks later, another one of the guys was waiting outside, and he waved his hand in front of a truck, fuckin' thing left 3 of his fingers hanging by threads. This is what one of his work mates said to my mom..

"George, he fuck hand up! George hit truck with hand and fuck it up! HAHAHAHAHAH!"

I was in Vietnam in 1967, and I was manning a firebase in the delta. I was in my tent reading a Dear John letter from my girlfried, when VC lobbed a mortar just outside my tent.

It startled me to such an extent that I jumped up and inadvertently got a damn paper cut! Man that mother fucker hurt for about a week.

Walking thru the damn rice paddies and shit just never let it heal right. If I hold my finger up to the light, just right, you can see where the scar would be if it was 1968.

I shattered my knee cap when I was 16; slipped on some fresh snow when I was running and hit a cement wall with it. I managed to get up and walk into the restaurant but I had to be helped back out because my quad had been detached when the knee cap shattered. Endured 6 hours of surgery and 5 weeks in a full leg cast. By the time I had the cast removed my nice muscular leg was a stick and I could not lift it or bend it. The physio was terrible; I had to lay on my stomach as my therapist would grab me by the ankle and pull to try and get the joint in my knee working again. I guess I was lucky though because the doctor told me that if I had been older they would have had to replace the knee. It sucks now though because I have osteoarthritis in it and if I try to play any high impact sports like basketball it swells right up.

Um my worse god there was so many But my worse one was in a house fire I was on the nozzle and my partner backen me up, MY capt was a fem and the fire went above and inthe walls. Well they blew the horn cause half the roof caved in my capt WHICH was awomen Ran out leaving me and my partner in there by ourselfs. Couldnt see shit but Fire Well right through my bunker gear I was burned 3rd degree on half my shoulder and upper arm. I couldnt lift my arm for 8 weeks cause of the scaring.

When I pulled my bunker gear off My skin was just dripping. It wasnt the fire that got me. I went looking for my WOMEN CAPT and hit the fire wrong and steamed me and my partner. That I think was my worse, OR

When I was 14 I dropped 2 tons of steal on my right foot toes Blew out the sides of my little toes and blew the front toe out. That hurt

Cut my thumb almost all the way off in a machining accident *yeah some women ARE certified machinists. lol* and had to drive 25 miles to the ER alone.

Old man had his back fractured in a martial arts match and didn't know it. A roof gave away 10 yrs later under him and not only shattered his foot while he tried to keep from falling sideways down the roof, it also finished breaking some things in his back. He is up and mean as ever tho. Just a year long body cast.

And luckily my thumb got sewn back on!! (odd thing... we didn't really know one another then, but the accidents happened in the same year, same month)

Argh typos! Still have sore knuckles from the idiot I punched the other day.

Ummm well I went to soccer camp and played goal keeper with a broken arm (not knowing it was broken, just thought I "hyper extendid it). Kinda tickled when I dove on it, lol

Torn all the ligaments and had full blown reconstructive knee surgery on both my knees (one at a time)

Nothing like not being able to run for 2 years...

Oh I also caught my thumb in a wood splitter, thought I only nicked it, pulled out my hand and there was all this blod and I looked at my thumb and all I could see was the bone in the middle and the nail was gone and the flesh was peeled back like a banana. Didn't hurt that much............................. meRx Confirmed User Join Date: Aug 2001 Location: Oahu , Hawaii Posts: 362	Driving one nite about 2am down a two way road , a drunk fucker skips the median right into my car head on...my head flys through the window , i black out for a split second look up see this drunk fucker reverse and flee and i realize ive just been hit head on.... i pulled my head through the window thinking to myself "jezuz thank god im ok" then i feel warm warm liquid dripping down my face.. i feel my forehead and notice there is a 1 and 1/4 inch deep by 3-4 inch wide gash in my head. I started to feel like i was going to pass out so i tied my shirt around my head and used the rest of my energy to get to a pay phone. Made it , called 911 ,ambulance came took me to ER where a minister was there who was waiting for my parents to get there so he could read my last will and testament. Surgeons operating on me , no one answered me when i askeed "am i going to be ok?" (i am totally wide awake during all this) Finally they realize i might be ok. I lost 3.5 pints of blood and had a 95% chance of death. Some how made it through and now have a small scar on my forehead. I must have broken all bones in my body at least once....too much to all write it down here...but the worst one I will share.... When I was younger I was a prof Motocross rider. At age 17 I finnished second in the European Championships and then moved the next year to compete for World Championships in Grand Prix. During my first year offcourse I had to fight hard to get even qualified...80 drivers for each GP 45 only start. After missing the first couple of races due to non qualify it slowly went better. The first season not too much injuries I qulified for only 3 GP´s. My second season started better. I qualified for the first 3 races but was still strugling in the back of the pack....but I was not doing bad....to race with the best 45 drivers from the world. 4th Race shit went wrong. Ironically it happened in the country I recently moved to...Spain. Grand Prix of Spain in Osuna. Very tricky circuit on a mountain...I qualified 32nd. In the first heat....I was coming down a straight end topspeed. At the end there was a small jump but it went downhill steep so the trick was to hit the brakes before the jump in order to let the bike fall downhill and land 20 meter below on the slope to break the fall and then another downhil a bit smaller.... it´s like a GIANT stair. Ok when I wanted to close the throttle and hit the brakes. My throttle wouldn´t close so instead of dropping downhill I got rocketed over the jump.....never saw the middle piece of the stair. Luckily I landed on the bike.....which broke...I got unconsinous and woke up from a coma 6 weeks later. Damage: a lot of broken bones, 6 broken ribs from which 2 puntured my left lung. Bones in my feet totally crushed....I still limb from that. Damaged 2 bones in my neck and 3 in my back....(broke) Both Keybones were broken, Broken leg....a piece of bone went through my skin....so open fracture....Tore both knee legiments...(not the first time) and offcourse I was totally bruced. 6 months hospitalisation. 1 year revalidation in a rehab centre. I had to learn how to sit, stand, walk again....basically I was back being a baby...I couldn´t do shit myself. At first they thought I was paralised from my neck down but luckily I wasn´t after 4 months I could feel and move parts of my lower body again. Ok this was the end of my racing carreer hehehe as you can understand. I have at least 4 pounds of extra weight due to stuff that was mounted inside me to keep the shit together. Right now I can do most stuff again...only running is a big no no I limb a little but that´s the only thing that is left....except from numerous scars offcourse. Did I ever ride a bike again....yes I love it...I´m not afraid it didn´t hurt crashing since all lights went out....! I picked it up and put in a paper towel and had the doctors put back on.. Broke my collar bone twice, Cracked my skull open when I was 8, broke my hand on some dudes face in a hockey fight, broken wrist, my buddy broke my nose goofing around and I dropped a big glass coke bottle on my toe and busted that.. Shit man now that I think about it I'm a fucking walking accident waiting to happen.

I put this drill Thru the index and middle fingers of my left hand. I tore out the digital nerves, severed tendons, and drilled bone. It fuckin happened fast!! When you sever, and rip out nerves, you lose all feeling. There really was no pain, since I had cut the nerver that should be sending impulses to my brain telling me there should be pain. I remember feeling like my fingers were in a bowl full of jello. I could feel squishyness between the bones and the skin. I didn't know what that was. Later it was explained as the rest of my hand feeling the sensation of having sebvered the nerves. So I couldn't feel the fingers moving from those two fingers, I could feel it everywhere else in my hand, which felt like my whole hand was in a bowl full of Jello. (that's the only way I can describe it) These photos were immediately after coming home from micro surgery to repair digital nerves and tendons. The Dr. said "Keep this bandage on for two weeks" I said "ok" I immediately came home, pulled it off, and snapped photos! These are just a few of the pics. The purple ink is from where I initialed the fingers to be fixed. They were real worried, since just a few months before some Dr., someplace else in America had amputated the wrong leg from a guy. Had to have spikes in it for months, in order for things to heal properly. The surgeon guy promised it would heal up fine but it still looks fucked now years later. I still have those spikes in a little jar down in the basement. I've also nearly cut my arm (the other arm) off wrecking a car, and I managed to get three fingers stuck in some machine when I was working in a factory, they were semi-crushed but they look alright now I guess, just can't open bottles with'em.
