:stop Yahoo stealing your images and removing your banners and google adwords

http://images.search.yahoo.com/searc...&tt=1&ei=UTF-8

If the link doesnt work just go to their images search and do a site search for gfy.com

site:gfy.com like that..

then click one of the images , and look in the frame of gfy below. notice there is no banner on the top of the gfy page as there should be..

If your site has google adwords on it , they will be disabled

a little known tag called securty=restricted on a frame will disable all javascript , and it appears quite a bit of other stuiff. i dont think you could possibly purchase anything while in a secruity restricted frame , because all coockies and java is disabled

They need a better way to filter unsafe sites, rather than filtering the site's content.

google's seems to work just fine without using the security tag . they have no right to alter the way your site was intended to be viewed as far as im concerned..

well im sure thats part of the future plans, but the general idea is not to increase their own revenue , its to make their service "better" than anyone else.s

Go to google images and type in "porn xxx" then view each image and see how many have popups , no longer exist or have framebusters to get out of googles hotlink..

now go to yahoo images and type the same search item, and you wont find one popup , one javascript , or one framebuster , because they have all been nulled..

i.e. yahoo images search is WAY better than google's simply for the fact its easier to find what you want.. the money will come later.. google has proven that..

How much money do you think google made before adwords .. less than nothing lol the whole idea was give away a free usefull service until you have a monopoly , then load them with ads , sell everything and build more monopoloys

Can't you just smack a decent JavaScript framebreaker script up? Failing that, if Yahoo disables a JavaScript one, fuck 'em over and use a PHP one - i'd like to see you disable some server-side shit... oh wait... you can't.

actually mate - i just checked a mainstream site of mine and the frame buster did just that with the yahoo images search. But again that was with FF.

Thats because firefox doesnt have the functionality to put sites into a restricted security zone.. Its not a clever way around yahoo, Its basically just a tag that firefox doesnt support so they just ignore it..

If you are a hardcore webmaster you should be using IE to see what most of your demographics is seeing while surfing your sites.

IE is still the most used browser in the world.

FIREFOX is the best but not everybody uses it.

Yahoo sucks for doing that shit!

I also fail to see how using a browser that lacks functionality is "better". The only reason the tag doesnt work in mozilla is because they are constantly playing catch-up with the browsers the majority of internet users use. I bet the next upgrade of firefox includes this tag.. Seems rather silly if you have been ripped off , to ignore the problem and figure its not a problem if i cant see them stealing my shit..

My bet is they added the "restricted" frames to help combat all the trojans/malware in thier results, and to reduce the negative publicity that has been coming with them.

I dont doubt thats part of the reason , but thats like saying " we are going to wear gloves when we rip off your content now because we kept cutting our fingers on the glass you used to protect your shit from being stolen..

The torjans and malware are put there because site owners dont want yahoo stealing their shit..

Anything's possible :D. You just write an apache .htaccess to check the referer, or use a bit of PHP and some trickery to stop Yahoo from doing it.

put it this way , does anyone thinks its acceptable for me to hotlink all your images , display them in one convenient place , then give you some credit but alter the way your site works/operates so a surfer cant actually buy anything..

Anyone who answers yes to this , please let me know.

and that helps how ?? as i explained all your going to be able to do is show a different image or page , your not gonna be able to bust out of the frame.. If you can and its so easy , please find me an example of such a site . and then explain to me why i have to spend my time protecting my content so yahoo doesnt steal it and reproduce it without y permission , while also changing the way my site appears..

While I do see your point, I doubt the malware is put there specifically because of Yahoo. I think the malware comes from greedy twats that aren't smart enough to make money in an honorable fashion.(Although, the malware epidemic could make surfers more apt to break out their credit cards to stay in a 'safe zone', maybe)
I also don't think it's right that they have mangled websites within those frames, but am unclear on what to do about it at this point. I am confident you will find something ;)

Well i can see you are in an amiable mood on this fine eve'. I'm not entirely sure of the details, but i'm sure that there is nothing to stop a quick apache .htaccess mod that basically checks the referer to file x.ext, and if it maches yahoo, simply redirects the user to the actual file x.ext - all before Yahoo's code even displays the initial image.
