La Villa Strangiato by Rush is a classic, although there's many more.
Dee by Randy Rhoads is one of my favorite classical guitar pieces.

Orion, by Metallica.
BTW, how can it be an instrumental song? Isn't a song, by definition, sung? Let's call it best instrumental tune or piece instead.

Metallica and Slipknot have some pretty good instrumental songs. Just jamming in the studio. Good shit, but I am more a rap fan, so I listen to lots of beats (over 1500 in my library). Also, there is the old batman score, and the spiderman theme was pretty good too. Not sure who the composers were though. The Batman score cd was quite popular back in 1990 or whatever. Good composer.

The theme from Forrest Gump (at the beginning where the feather is floating around).
And cliche as it is - a lot of the Rocky soundtrack has some fine instrumental tracks (not 'Gonna Fly Now' which has vocals). I always liked the music in the background where Rocky gets up early one morning and makes his run through Philly with the kids joining in towards the end. |
