[DRAMA] Fuck you pimproll/SilverCash/extremepaychecks/topbucks, FUCKING SPAMMER COCKS
I have gotten thousands of spam emails on email addresses such as
[email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Why is it that i am now being bombarded by spammers who have my a unique email address which was created explicitly for your program. Are you selling your webmaster lists to these fucking spammers? Keep in mind that i ONLY used these to sign up to your program and have never used them anywhere else. Care to explain? |

But, I'm also an affiliate of a couple of those programs, have been for quite a few years now actually, and I'm not getting any spam like you're describing.
I won't try to explain how or why it's happening to you, but I'd lay off the scathing accusations in thread titles until you know for sure that someone is guilty.

We do not sell our affiliates email addresses, nor give them away, nor email anything to them except a PimpRoll newsletter when there is an announcement.
You know, I've bought new domains before, pointed dns and set up hosting and gotten spam to the email address I've set up without ever using it. Anyone care to explain that?

Anyone that does [email protected] is asking for spam, if you did something else random then I would understand you bitching about spam, but spammers have figured out they can add all those to lists to earn more for selling the email lists.

It could be that the 'spammer' knows that thats the format webmasters use to sign for sites?
Someone has been on a wind-up for weeks, seems like a waste of time to me - but whatever turns you on I suppose. |

No, or else 12,000+ affiliates would be lighting up the boards with spam complaints. You are exactly the third person to ever mention something like this to me in a year and a half of doing support.
Please put in a request on your account info page and change your email address and let us know if it happens again, and also forward the complete email with headers for good measure.

You want to make up a unique email address for a program, make it something unique, anyone can find a domain name and send email to all the major program names hoping for a match.
[email protected] would be unique [email protected] would be pretty fucking weak. ![]()

um you are definitely not getting a spam from anyone at extremepaychecks.
unless there is a rogue mailer like the probs last week with other people. send me the info. this is not drama. this is you not investigating and calling out a program that has never sent a piece of mail in its life. if theres an affiliate or just some asshole out there doing it, it doesn't mean the program is doing it. no one gets our email lists. we don't even freakin mail surfers. send the info please. |

I have no trojans/backdoors/bots running on my computer.
I am behing a firewall so it isnt like these spammers have direct access to my computer. I do "catch all" on my domains but they're coming in on those addresses. I highly doubt i am the only person here with this issue. |

Oftentimes what spammers will do is simply use those names because a LOT of people create those type sof email addresses for sponsors. Maybe next time pick a better system? Don't neccessarily blame the companies.

I've gotten about 400-500 more spam e-mails today over what I'd normally get which is about 20-40 on any given day.
It's pretty obvious that is some fucking stupid ass noob as he's already been termed by a few of the programs he's sending to. I can deal with a little spam but dumb fucks like this guy I hope die a very slow painful death.

keep in mind when you use an addy like [email protected] , people will hit them randomly like
[email protected] [email protected] [email protected]' but just by the sheer amount of it lately i think theres more too it.. Im consider myself fairly internet savvy and after signing up to pimproll i was FLOODED with spam emails. starting a few hours after i got my "accepted" email.. this address was new had never been used for any other sponsors , wasnt a dictionary word or a tardemarked name ( i.e. [email protected] ) i spoke with pimproll and they were very adamant that it wasnt from them and such , and while i do believe their integrity , i think theres a bigger problem at hand with emails being stolen.. With most cases like the one you presented bove , there are ways ( as remote as they may be ) that you could have been spammed and they werent the badguy. but in my case above i cant find any rational explanation other than pimproll's database is hacked or someone has a backdoor , or their email server is being snooped

do you actually think that a program would put their name before the @ sign? then fake the domain name? Sounds like organized spoofing to me.

Milambur: that is a real possiblity but i dont know. Its a lot easier to hack a server than it is to own someone's core router/edge router and keep the access.
Smokey: I am glad that i am not the only one who is getting all of these. I do not think it is a "joe job" to be honest either. I noticed some from Soul Cash/Bangbros as well. But so far my pimproll@ and silvercash@ are the ones getting pounded. |

Hacking a server just give you access to e-mail addresses stored on that server, monitoring a node on a mayor isp could possibly give you a large chunk of the e-mail addresses of the entire world.

If you use [email protected], you're going to get the spam once the spammer gets ahold of your domain. They're using program names, commmon names, common addresses like "admin", "sales" etc.
If you use [email protected], you'll eventually come to realize that a particular processor seems to have a leak and possibly a particular affiliate program software. But no one seems to care enough to be looking into it. |

Smokey, if yours were similar headers then it seems like it's obviously the same person or outfit.. I have a couple of ideas, but I wont say more until after some work and some random testing.
I will reitterate that we do NOT sell, give away, or spam our affiliate email addresses. Nor was there any database hacked or stolen. drama, if you havent done so yet, then go ahead and do the email change request form and let us know if you get another. That'd actually be helpful I think.

Milambur: I doubt that is it because of the amount of resources it would take to sniff the traffic of a core/edge router unless the actual ISP was in on it which i also doubt.
Tempest: I think you might be on to something when you say that an affiliate software package might have an issue. It's the only commonality between them i think |

Listen, it is NEVER the sponsor giving out emails. Its hackers (maybe competition desided to play dirty?) extracting emails from the mysql DB or an employee leeking emails. Seriously, use some common sense, why whould a BIG sponsor gain from selling the list? A big sponsor would NEVER sell their webDB (well, not the retarded onces).

Smokey, nobody is there to approve accounts right now. Can you wait about 12 hours or so when everyone is working? I'd like you to try it a certain way but I'm about to check out for the night..

pr_tom -- sure . but i think i should prob signup how i did last time , since my pimproll account is one that this happened too and i know how i signed up last time.. in speaking with a few others about this i think the problem might be with nats "accepted email" , something snooping the email addy when you approve a site.. because when i signed up for pimproll it took a day or 2 for you to approve my account . i recieved no spam email not 1 email in 2 days.. a few hours after recieving my "approved" email from pimproll , i started getting 100 spams a day
