The Official Ghost, UFO and unexplained Thread

I'll go first. I believe in ghosts and aliens. I have a weird story too. When i was like 15 years old living I'm Miami Lakes, Miami we lived in a nice house and all. But this weekend was a sad weekend because it was the day my great-grandmother died. My moms 3 sisters were visiting and we were all hanging out and one of my aunts mentioned that she wanted to lay down so she went upstairs to take a nap. After about 30 minutes or so while the rest of us was just talking in the living room my dog started barking at a chair in the dining room. I don't mean like and dog bark, she was going crazy on this damn chair and she wouldn't take her eyes off of it. After about 15 minutes of the dog going crazy and we wouldn't shut her up she finally stopped and walked away as if she snapped out of what ever she was in. Almost right after the dog stopped, my aunt that was sleeping walked down stairs and started telling us about a dream she just had with my dead grandmother. She said in the dream she was sitting on the dining room table with my grandmother and they were talking about everything. My grandmother asked her for some water and she got it to her and as soon as the cup touched her mouth she woke up. My mom asked her where she was sitting at the table and she pointed at a chair and said that that is where my grandma was sitting. That chair was the exact same chair the dog was going crazy to. Coincidence?? i think fuck no. What do you think???

Cool story. *They* say that animals, especially dogs are sensitive to spirits. (Actually read this on the TAPS website). Don't know if it's true or not, but it's food for thought.

well, as a witness to that kind of thing i can tell you it was anything but normal. It freaked me the fuck out.

I imagine it did freak you out. There really is a lot of good info on that website & board. I've seen enough in my work as a RN to know that "stuff" does exist that can't be explained and I personally do believe that spirits are among us. It still is freaky when stuff like that happens, though, I know just what you're saying.

Cool thread and I actually started a very similar one on another board. I got a few stories, here's one:

Maybe about 6 years ago, five friends and myself were chilling on the beach on a summer night. We were drinking and about to smoke. Before we even lit up, something completely absurd happened. I remember I was silently staring at the sand by my feet, when, suddenly, it was as if a light began to grow all around me. Similar to a flash from a camera, everything around was instantly illuminated. It was as if it had turned to day for a split second. It was a weird light, sort of reddish and violet. My friends around me gasped and an instinctual reflex made me look towards the sky. When I looked up I saw a what looked like 3 or 4 blue streaks stretch across the night sky. It was weird! We left the beach and asked other people and a lot of them had seen it. I know it probably has a very logical explanation, but sometimes when I'm with those friends we talk about that night.

Someone on that other board posted this story. I dont how much of it is true, but it really freaked me out nonetheless:

A few summers back, a group of friends and yours truely were exploring the "haunted hospitals" in our town. They were originally used as tuberculosis treatment centers, but one day everybody vanished without a trace. Beds were left made and there were set tables. So we venture into building #1. We walk through the house, and one of my genius friends (who had previously been there) runs down the hallway and starts shaking filing cabinets. After that incident we decide to go into the basement of the building. To our surprise, there are cages in the basement, and it seems to be cooler than the rest of the house. We see a tunnel in a cage at the end of a corridor, so we try to pry it open, but we fail miserably. So we walk back towards the stairs when one of my friends turns around and throws a rock at the cage while screaming "DAMMIT!" Surprisingly, the gate opens as the rock hits it. After playing a game of "Not It" my friend Mike is the unlucky person who ends up going first. So after a bit of hesitation we make our way into the tunnel. We walk through the tunnel and come out the top of a different building. By now, we are all scared pretty bad, so we leave the house. Before we make our way home, my friend Dave and I decide to release our liquids in a bush next to the building. While we are doing this we hear a cry, and we look at our friends who are behind us, and they are all staring at a window in the building. Although me and Dave didn't see anything, they claimed they saw a shadow in the building. So we run out the back of the building. There are 3 street lights as we make our way out of there. They are all on to our surprise. As we run past the lights, they turn off as we pass them, and when we make it to the next light, it turns back on and the next light turns off. I will never forget my experience at the Essex Mountain Sanitorium. I think theres a website for this whole building system, and sadly they were demolished after we experienced thier arabesqueness. I suggest to anyone who is looking for something to do, go to this website.

Here's another personal story:

I had a girlfriend once who HAD to go to sleep with the radio or TV on. She said that if not she would here these really strange sounds before falling asleep, like a loud buzzing sound or something. Anyway, she said that if that happened she would then have this strange dreaming where she would feel that she was floating. She also told me that a few times she had seen herself from the ceiling, while sleeping. She said that she would wake up terrified from these dreams. But the scariest thing she said to me was that once, after waking from one of these dreams, she had opened her bedroom door and looked into the hallway cuz she felt that something was there. There, in the hallway, she claims to have seen a figure, sort of like a shadow, of something that was neither a man no woman, She closed the door and didn't sleep all night.

Her mother, a total religious fanatic, told her (I don't know if it was teasing or not, cuz the woman was a bit crazy) that it was the devil who was trying to scare her. Needless to say, I hated her mother and fought with her constantly and was one of the main reasons why this girl and I split up.

Anyway, I don't know if this girl was lying to me or not, but it did spook me out.
