i'll try to help
on your computer go to start--> all programs --> internet explorer. click the internet explorer icon to launch the program. internet explorer is what techies call "a web browser". which is basically just a tool for searching for and browsing content on the internet. it will also show images and videos but we will discuss that in the more advanced tutorials. once internet explorer has opened successfully, go to the address bar at the top and carefully type in "http://www.google.com" - once you have double checked your spelling, push the "enter" button on your computer and you will see your first website. this website is what techies call a "search engine", which is just a fancy way of saying "web site that magically and mysteriously finds other websites". although few are clear on how it actually works, many have speculated that it is powered by very small, magical gnomes. once you have google.com open in internet explorer, carefully type the question you are searching for answers to in the "search" field. once you have double checked your spelling, click "google search" and you should see the results of your search and the answers you are looking for. i really hope this tutorial has been useful to you. good luck on the internet! |
