You're assuming those cars are paid for. What if they aren't paid for and the owners don't have gap insurance? Seems like a massive headache to me and if you watch the video closely you'll see that other cars were blocking them in. So hitting the gas and running over a few would only infuriate the mob. The best solution to this is don't go to Oakland after dark, I mean who the hell doesn't know this in the first place. The town is a fucking terror zone.

if the car aint paid for they make you have top notch insurance ( the bank doesnt want their investment ruined either )

Im not saying its going to workj out for everyone.. but im sure most of them just said they were carjacked and got new cars..

Your advice is still pretty good though ( dont go into oaktown after dark )

My gut feeling watching it would be to run some of them down , but if you cant make it out you might end up dead pulling that shit.. i would have just gotten out of the car and left the area , my insurance would have covered that ... and hoped i could make it back with a weapon before everyone went home

I'm not sure what you mean by top notch insurance. If the car isn't paid for they make you have full coverage. Excluding gap insurance that pays the value of the car when its totaled or considered a loss. This means they take blue book value of the car, year to date. If you owe more than the car is worth at the time of the accident you are liable for the remainder of the loan, this is where gap insurance comes in. You buy gap insurance when you finance the care, they should offer it to you but it isn't mandatory. Gap insurance pays the remainder of the loan. Regardless of the scenario its probably safe to assume that very few people own their cars outright. So even with both insurances covering all liability most of these people are probably walking away square. Meaning they are out a car with nothing to show for it.

As for retaliating against a crazy mob like that, imo your best bet is to ditch the car and get the fuck out of dodge. Doing anything stupid like trying to run them over will just get your ass beat and possibly killed.
