63.4 million votes for American Idol?

Damn, that's insane.... imagine if people felt as strongly about voting for a president!

They let you vote more than once.
It wasn't 63 million people voting. However many people voted....they called the 1-800 numbers and sent text messages 63 million times.

yes. And the producers reserve the right to veto the voting process. Imagine if someone tried that online. "Vote for the coolest youtube video, only 50 cents per vote". That would go over like the Titanic.

I say it's complete bullshit. I dare them to post the vote data so it can be independently verified.

It's simple. Every vote receives a unique ID. Every vote can be identified simply by this ID. They should have a web site where you can enter in this ID and it will let you see how you voted.

After the votes are in, all they have to do is make this database accessible to the public; a column of the unique IDs and a column of the actual and matching vote. Privacy of the voter protected and they won't have people like me who think their 'show' is complete bullshit.

Of course, that is all after the fact that American Idol involves no creativity or imagination whatsoever: It's a glorified karaoke bar on TV.

The worst part is that people actually think it's real! Next, "Judge" Judy will be on the Supreme Court

just shows you how many fucking morons we have in this country. more willing to vote on a worthless fucking tv show then voting for someone who has a big part in how you live your life.

Sure, let me know when you come up with a tv show that has more creativity and imagination... I'm sure it'll be an even bigger hit.
