Justifying working with porn

We have all been there. I am having a hard time telling people / potential girlfriends about what I do because everyone is so got damn stuck up here. How do you justify porn?

I get lots of people complaining about how girls may be treated bad, the fact that it might be demeaning to women, objectifying women and that people take advantage of women who are in a bad place and time.

As for me I dont give a shit, I love women and I love money. Why not combine? However people get this idea of you being a pervert asshole who hates women if you tell them that you are into porn even if you clarify that you are just promoting/selling it on the internet.

I can only imagine what it's like trying to tell a potential girlfriend what you do...most people are pretty closed minded. Being a female in porn usually gets me the same question..."what movies are you in?" Most people don't understand that this is a legitimate business that has the same number of facets to it that any other business has.

In the past where it might have been an issue I tell people I market items for sale via search engines and affiliate traffic. Throw in a few big names and a few big words that no one understands and your all set.

And yes, it does take a pervert to work in this industry. My mother and law stayed with me for the past week and while she was here I noticed that I was careful about my girl watching.

I have a hard time with my family. My friends accept what I do and some even think it's cool or edgy for a chickie like me to go out on a limb and test the waters. But my mom thinks porn girls do it for drug money, and my SIL freaks out over my brother looking at porn. I told my SIL if porn in his email inbox is her biggest marital problem, she has no idea how lucky she is. As far as my mom goes, I just told her about the amateur girls I know. Yes, money is a factor, but not unlike any other "job"...I asked my mom if she likes nursing, and she said yes, so I asked her if that meant she would work full time + for free, because she likes it, and she said no. I said, same thing..these girls enjoy sex, but if they weren't earning a living, they just wouldn't be running a site full time. Some content girls DO just do it for the money, and some use the money for drugs, but guess what, so do some doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc etc. Does that mean they are all that way, and that we shouldn't support those industries?

She doesn't know about my own amateur site, but I can deal with it when/if she does. I'll tell her that I felt better about who I am inside once I was able to accept myself inside and outside, and the response from members/fans has definitely helped with that, and though of course there have been drawbacks, I've been able to support my family alone, and I am confident enough to ensure I don't get mistreated by myself or anyone else, and that's way worth it for me.

I tell everyone what I do and never lie about it or feel the need to justify it. I am proud of the work I do and the work my colleagues do so if people don't like it that is their issue not mine. There will always be stereotypes about what we do and we may never be able to change them, however if we take pride in our work and continue to produce products that is fresh and good that is the best way to quiet the haters! mmmkay!

Yea that is always a tough question. If you tell people the truth they think that the money is easy and there is no work involved. Fuck I hate that! I then usually go into the whole speil. Usually ie with other parents at school I tell them we do internet marketing and video conferencing. Which is not lieing lol its just not telling the whole truth. Honeslty the whole thing sucks I dont see why most americans are so closeminded but it is the wolrd we live in.

I guess I am a believer in the "need to know basis" approach. Honestly, how many people sincerely care how you make your money? I do the whole "internet marketing" thing too... sometimes take it a step further with something about "audio-visual streaming software" to make it sound extra interesting!

It was an interesting change of industry for me - I was previously in radio for 8 years... but all in all, as someone else alluded to - a business model is a business model... doesn't matter what product you are selling.. we just happen to be peddling one of the biggest!

Before I got into this I did a little research and spoke with a solo site girl wich I met in a regular adult chatroom (not on a paysite). She told me all about how she got into the industry and how she liked her job and was hoping to retire by the age of 40. She also told me she stayed 6 months per year at her villa in Italy (she was 25 and already owned such an expensive house). It came clear to me that she liked what she was doing and she kicked on all the money she was earning and wasn't planning to stop with what she was doing even when she didn't need the money. So I decided there wasn't anything wrong with marketing these girls or porn as a product. It's a win win situation for me versus the programs and the girls.
I also found out there are many young females that are almost desperate to get into the industry, sometimes even very pretty girls. They aren't pretty enough to become a real model but they like sex, get a kick out of posing naked and they want the money and the attention.
Because of all this info I have no objections promoting porn, it's a product. There are certain niches that I do not wish to promote because they discust me so I just don't promote them.
As for telling people what you are doing, I'm in marketing and online advertising. Thinking about telling them what I am actually doing makes me laugh since I'm imagening what their faces would look like.

how do you justify it? you just don't, just tell them that you're not proud of being in the industry, but you need to pay the bills, and that you're using the skills you're learning in the industry to help you with your next career.

Nothing to justify.. porn is a business like any other business and rarely got time to bother wasting time "discussing" it with folks who have no clue.

Also never hid this from anyone - especially folks you may need to work with - lawyers, accountants, banks - and never had any problem from any of them.

here are a few answers I have used in the passed and they seemed to help appease some people.

Q: Porn objectifies women.
A: Yes, it absolutly does. Guys are buying porn because the girls are sexy and they want to watch them have sex. But Victoria Secret objectifies women, The Miss America Pagent objectifies women, any TV show that has a woman on it simply because she is hot objectifies women. The music industry does too. If Brittney Spears were 5foot2 and 190 lbs when she first came out, she wouldn't have sold any records. The reality is that these women know it is happening to them and they enter into this knowing it.

Q: It takes advantage or exploits women.
A: Yep, it does in a way. But unlike just about every industry in the world the women actually make much much more money than the guys do. Also you can't tell me that someone slaving over a shitty job for minumum wage while the company that he works for is making million is not being exploited. It is exploitation, but at least there is good compensation for it.

Q: The women are preyed up during a rough point in their lives.
A: I'm not about to say that there are not creeps in the industry that trick women into getting into this bizz by lying to them, but every content producer I know is up front about what they are going to do, how much they will make and what the pics/movies will be used for. If you then decide to still go through with it, it is your choice, nobody is holding a gun to your head.

I simply tell people that I take existing pics and movies and make "sampler" sites with them. Basically giving people some free samples and enticing them to buy from a paysite and if they buy I earn a commision. It's no different than someone giving out food samples at a store. That the product is porn makes no difference. In the end you shouldn't have to justify it to any chick you are going to go out with. explain what you do, be honest, and explain why it is not bad. Educate them because a lot of people who are very anti-porn really don't know shit about porn. If they are still against it, then you have to let them go and move on. If this is a biz you have decided to be in, then you will have to find people to be in your life that are okay with it. If having to explain it and the troubles you are having finding some to accept it bother you that much, maybe this is no the biz for you.

My family was pretty freaked out at first, especially since I perform in the videos. Most people who don't have thier heads up their ass will at least see it for what it is, which is a business. Granted it can be very fun at times, but it is work nonetheless, and it does pay the bills; and then some if you do it right. As long as I'm not hurting anybody I have nothing to feel bad about.
