During the night of May 20th, Mr. Matthews became agitated and wandered around the cell where he was being held with 60 other inmates, according to Mexican officials. Mumbling incoherently, the officials said, he stumbled repeatedly over prisoners who were trying to sleep.

At least four prisoners and one guard severely beat Mr. Matthews, who then lay unconscious until he was taken to a hospital on May 21st, where he was pronounced dead.

Mexican officials have pledged to prosecute those responsible.

Roll into balls, place on cookie sheet
Cook and Chill

Hey I finally was able to get ahold of Aaron's sister. She has been in Mexico and her cell phone would not work. But she says that their attorney is working hard with the american embassy and that they may be able to get him freed by next week.

She also said they were finally able to get to see him and that he was alive but badly abused by both inmates and custody.

Lets hope that the attorneys can get him home....
