About the ransom ware accusations concerning rage

bottom line. from the looks of the articles and all those complaints theres more to it than i saw. that being said. how many never found the places to complain and make their problems public? what i've seen is enough to put it in the "questionable" category at best. the fact that its being disputed as "easily removed" is not accurate to me based on how many consumer complaints are out there.

franck, above all those people that have brought this up knows how bad i hate stuff like this. we both had the same install and it cost me a machine. i wanted to go through the internet connection and tear the face off the asshole that installed it.

unknowingly supporting something is much different than knowingly supporting something.

basically, i asked the questions that i needed to ask when we got into the deal. i specifically asked what it did and downloaded and uninstalled. everything was fine, no flags. i guess i shoulda left it on the machine for the entire 3 days. so be it, shoot me dead, i'm not a programmer.

i've read everything i could find on this and at this point we're done with it. legal or not, its not our style.

now...for the entire community.

i've seen enough to where i don't want anything to do with it anymore. i am here to protect nobody, fuck all that. people can come in with their political ways to say stuff if they want. i asked the questions and did the tests i needed to when i first set this up and everything checked out.

i have contacted no one at WD. i have several people that i trust technically tearing it apart to find out exactly what it does instead of what i was told.

i'm not doing this for anyone here. i'm doing this for the surfers.

this place makes me sick sometimes. people need to look for front page stories elsewhere, instead of ASSuming that people are doing something under the radar. not knowing something is called ignorance, not conspiracy. naivety is not intent.

i'm done with this. all of it. go look for yourselves. there will never be another download on our network, ever. set your clocks to it.

peace.

because airek, at the end of the day all people care abut is the drama

the same people bitching about you all being involved with this company are the same people that push 12 clicks a day to you (pun intended)

at the end of the day you have to what you have to do, and if it doesn't involved drama, the surfer/wanna be webmaster doesn't care unless it carries a high bitch factor along with it

fact is, the people with high traffic making you the most sales aren't posting on gfy and aren't caring about some installs that your consoles might have as long as they get their gracious PPS that you offer

in some sort of way its them that showed us exaclty what this does and the blowback caused. that blowback alone is good enough for me to not continue with it.

i strongly believe that gfy does not fall into the 80/20 rule. gfy is more like 90/10, being that 90% of the people here all day long send 10% of your traffic. 10% is 10%. they're valuable in their own way. my huge affiliates are never around, they never contact me, they never post, shit i have to go looking for them just to see if they are alive and ok. they bang away everyday nonstop and never log into a board. in the entire industry we have 1000s and 1000s of webmasters, yet there are maybe 15 or so that hit the boards and play vigilante. this time i learned something from the confrontation. like i said legal or not on WD side, its just not something i want to continue or would have done had i known of all the complaints and what it does once the trial expires.

i make the decisions over here and no one tells me what to do with my surfers. if others want to use it, by all means, run your business, but i wont send people to downloads ever again.

I guess late is better than never.

I'm curious though - did you NOT research the product/company BEFORE getting on board. It's hard to imagine you would have missed the mountain of flames and very public bad attitude (right or wrong) all over the web before choosing to endeavour with this product.

The public hostility did not happen within the last 48 hours - this is the result of obviously significant unresolved customer complaints.

While it is reassuring to know that eventually smart biz operators will back away from questionable propositions, reacting to blowback is not the same as being diligent and proactive.

I would like know which sponsors are on record for refusing to participate in this from the getgo - those are my kind of sponsors!

no, your kind of sponsors are the ones that ride the coat tails of the successful programs out there. that think inside that little box that limits their abiliy to grow and try new things.

you sir, will fail in business. hope you enjoy the ride down hill.

Props to you Airek.

well, i surely don't apologize for my ignorance on what the download was doing. i am one to trust until i am proven otherwise. to many, what the program does is morally acceptable, to me its not something i want around anymore.

also, this statement i made is not about WD, but some casino fuckers that owned both me and franck on the same day

"franck, above all those people that have brought this up knows how bad i hate stuff like this. we both had the same install and it cost me a machine. i wanted to go through the internet connection and tear the face off the asshole that installed it."
