Fleshlight email: IS their new cookie procedure strange, or is it just me?

In the email:

Improved Cookie Protocol
We're excited to announce the revision of our current traffic referral system. As many of you know, the former system implemented cookies that could be overwritten by another affiliate if the surfer failed to place a sale or visit our discussion board. As of Friday, May 12th, we've implemented a new system which will offer all of our affiliates a locked 30-day cookie on traffic generated and sent to Fleshlight.com irregardless of sales or registration on our forum

So normally(like on all sites I promote actually) it works like this

siteA sends surfer A to program A surfer think no thanks, and close the window.

siteB sends surfer A to program A surfer JOINS, because SiteB made him really horny. And siteB gets credit. HOWEVER, with Fleshlight when this is happening within 30 days, siteA gets credit!!!

SO in other words, when I would buy a lot of 404, popunders etc etc, and send all the crap traffic to FL, I get my cookie placed on many surfer pc's, and those surfers are 'useless' for FL affiliates for 30 days...

Strange way, tell me I'm reading this email wrong...

Andre

They need to rethink that policy.

Sounds like just a way for big tgps and shit to cookie everyone regardless if they have ads or not. It would lead to some money regardless and screw everyone else.

Yeah, I don't really understand it. I read Ramos' post about why they are using their own system, but I'm surprised they don't use a system like NATS or something that has been proven before. Seems to me having that many affiliates you should use something that's been proven before. I don't think a program with that many affiliates should be building their own system and basically testing it out as they go. I just think something bad could happen and you could potentially lose a bunch of affiliates. Just my thoughts.

From what I understand many many sponsors use the same setup.

I do not care if a program has their own system or an out of the box one. Just as long as it works like it should.
