Do You Think Gays Should Be Allowed To Get Married?

I'm interested to see what the adult entertainment community thinks of this issue.

I don't understand why everyone gets so pissed about gay people wanting to get married. Last time I checked straight people weren't really having a great success rate as far as marriages go. Plus, what's wrong with someone wanting to be happy?

Very intelligent response, that shares my views. Each church can decide if they do or do not want to perform a marriage ritual. The federal government should allow for the legal protections of a relationship that the "legal" aspect of marriage provides.

I will be with my partner for 8 years this October. I wish we could get married.

Instead, we have to listen to the President of the United States give national speeches wanted to pass amendments to the constitution to discriminate against us.

It's hard sometimes. When I see shows on TV like I did tonight it bothers me.

I agree with civil unions. Gay's should be afforded all the legal benefits of a heterosexual married couple. However I'm still against gay "marriage" through a church because of my religious views - however I have no problems with gays whatsoever, I have many gay friends.

Sure why shouldn't they allowed to go thru the hell us straight people go thru.

Maybe they should just ban ALL marriage all together.

Civil union give them the same rights as married people so why can't they be happy with that? Their all or nothing approach is doomed to failure. It led to Bush being president for another 4 years. Take the civil union and maybe in 25 years after society gets used to it and all the old farts die, then go for the marriage thing. It's more than what they did have. It's not like they can't call themselves "married" they do it now. Besides "getting married" is just some bullshit religious ceremony.

I think it is unfair that a gay couple can get the same benefits as a married couple, but I have to marry a chick if I want to take advantage of them.

How many kids are getting raised by gays now? Are these kids better off in state care in institutions or going from foster home to foster home?

Why would you want a civil union with a chick? Where is the benefit for a guy? She is still going to get half your shit if it doesn't work out.

I believe I did answer the question. But to make it more clear. Sure why not let gays adopt. Well amrried or civil unuionized ones. Singles guy don't get to adopt, single gays shouldn't be able to either.

Well if a church doesn't agree with gays being married I'm not for MAKING them. Sepration of Church and state works both ways. And just because the religious right tries to deny my right as an athiest doesn't means I'm going to do the same in kind. As one who is a memebr of a group that is often persecuted for their beliefs I certain understand how important the right worshi( or not to worship ) is.

civil unions are still "seperate but equal." Marriage should be allowed imo, but if the church doesnt support it thats up them. Legally though they (gay people) should be allowed.

So? gay don't have specific rights according to the US Constitution. The reason laws agaisnt interracial marriage were outlawed because it violated the Constitution.

So no specific rights means equal? It wasnt until recent marriage was pushed to seperate with defining it as between a man and a woman (in the US). I just simply cannot see having civil unions but not marriage. Its all or nothing and nothing pushes upon discrimintion in my opinion... Everybody has there own opinions.

"all or nothing" gets republicans elected and gays not having ANYTHING. It's called "getting your foot in the door first"

Women got the right to vote in 1920. The "womans lib" movement began in the 1960's. If they tried to pull that "woman's lib" stuff in the early 1900's women never would have gotten the right to vote. "all or nothing" ultimatums only work if you have some power behind them to back them up.

# of hard core Jesus freaks that vote > # of pro marriage gays that vote.

i don't know why marriage has to always be about religion...although it may have started that way, it is no where near there now

I am married, we never got married under god or in a church....we went to the marriage commissioner and they performed a ceremoney that had nothing to do with any religion or god

ANYONE should have the right to do what my wife and I did, and I think it is rediculous to think that in this day and age people are being segregated like they are consistantly

Yes. Gay men and women should be allowed to get married the same as straight couples. It should be their civil right and nobody's business to say otherwise especially the governments.

Civil unions should be permitted...as the government should not be allowed to discriminate.

Churches, on the other hand, can. So, when Martin Luther didn't like what was happening, he splintered off and started the Lutheran Church...as did Calvin and others that weren't happy campers ....

If the Church says no, create your own.
