"all or nothing" gets republicans elected and gays not having ANYTHING. It's called "getting your foot in the door first"
Women got the right to vote in 1920. The "womans lib" movement began in the 1960's. If they tried to pull that "woman's lib" stuff in the early 1900's women never would have gotten the right to vote. "all or nothing" ultimatums only work if you have some power behind them to back them up.
