State of the industry.

I am curious we seen so many things come and go and changes.

From billing, to traffic, to spyware.

The rise of "Mega Sites" to the Amateur content craze to the rise of Solo Girl sites.

I think the industry is still going strong in some way's and loosing its ass in other ways. Trends seem to be the ongoing in Adult and well for the most part all Entertinament as a whole.

I like to think we as an industry are entertainer's, we experience all the things that Mainstream Entertainment experiences.

Growth markets as of late have been Adult Toy's, and Mobile.

Over all I think we are in good shape.

Whats some stuff we can clean up as a whole?

Thats my statement about the state of the industry, whats yours?

PS: Some would argue that Dot XXX could have given a reprieve in Processing as it would set a new round of rules that some would say result in easier processing.

We may have missed out on .XXX potential on the other hand over all suffered as a result of its reality. Who is to say?

For the year 2006, single handedly Processing is an area of our industry that needs an evolution.

I don't think you'd know the state of the industry if somebody slapped you in the face with it.

A perfect example 2House.

Processing is still in the Prehistoric times.

I know and maybe some top programs know that Chase and Providian card holders are treated totally different from one another. Our industry suffers 1% charge back ratio.

Way the fuck harder than the standard walmart and its charge back, return policies. I say that with some conviction. Why is a charge back necessary at all? Real world merchant need only provide a "Merchant Credit".

For example.
If I buy a PC at Fry's. I do not like it and return it, I can get a store credit.

Processors pay attention to what I just said.

Ultimatly remember that it is not the site itself that you process for.
Processor you Process for hundreds of sites.

At this time...

We are not treated the same.

So let me get this straight. you're comparing sales of real world goods, complete with a signature on the credit card slip, with selling memberships on the internet?

Yes.

Why is it any different on the internet?
Its not! Infact the internet is more secure than a store front.

Thats a statistical fact.
Merchants in the store front suffer more fraud in processing.

Another fact.

A buyer of Itunes can transact while the same card holder may buy site access and results in a decline. Things that make you go Hummmmmmmmm!

Thats a fact.
But you suggest that this is an issue for processors. I was under the impression that it was in my Visa agreement with my bank, and ultimately Visa, that I'm not liable for anything that I don't sign for. Thus, if I wanted, I could call in and charge back pretty much any online charge.

If I were just trying to escape paying my bill with this method, I would in fact be commiting fraud. However, no company is going to expend the resources to track down a possible $29.95 fraud which will be difficult to establish without the delivery of any real world goods.

I don't see how processors could do anything about this. This is a Visa issue, and Visa is within its rights to make any restrictions they see fit. Last I checked adult webmasters were not a protected group, and thus it's not even discrimination. Witness American Express's complete exit from Adult.

Visa is bigger than microsoft, we're at their mercy.

Blind traffic trading has to stop. That tactic destroy's surfer's trust in the industry as a whole and makes TGP traffic even more worthless. We need more focus on building the surfers trust. Actually HELP them find what they're looking for etc. I can't wait til I release the new SmutGiant.com... it's what surfer loyalty is all about.

Processing and Merchant banks are still subject to competition.

On a dynamic level Processors can align with several merchant banks.
At the end of the day even Merchant banks themselves are subject to competition.

SOmething everyone does not think is possible or viable.

I say NAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

It is possible and natural.

Thats totally true.
Click fraud is at an all time high, not only for surfers but for traffic traders.

Ya can't say that surfer clicking an item and ending up with somthing totally different than described results. Thats fucked.

I think strict Darwinians discount the role of cosmology in Evolution. My wife and I often discuss something we call "Reset". Basically, that describes an event of sufficient cataclysmic effect that most established, long-ruling life-forms are wiped out in a single stroke. As a result, the competitive dynamics that had long decided which species succeed and which fail are re-shuffled. New orders arise that are so different from prior orders that the *linearity* of Evolution is effectively interrupted. If the dinosaurs had known about comets, they might have taken steps. As it was, all they could do was gaze in stupefaction at the pretty lights in the sky.

The resonance of these principles to our own industry, and to electronic commerce in general, is still difficult to gauge and appreciate. I have my theories, but I won't bore you with them here. But take this: It's not easy to see ourselves as we must look from space... from the perspective of an Alien, as it were --

I will take an exact quoate from a long time and very well known industry figure.

"XXX would not be a bad idea IF companies like mine were assured a more transparent processing procedure".

Thats straight up and to the fact some of the matter.

Now I also know that the very guy that pushed for .XXX and financed reads GFY. Its fact.
I know.

So maybe he can read this and get the message.

Our industry needs assurances on a processing level to get motivation to approve for its sponsorship.

I thank everyone that defeated .XXX and thier letters of opposition and this was the fact why I myself didnt approve at the final moments.

Our industry needs better Processing benefits, especially companies that have paid thier dues in customer service and delivery.

Thats absolutly true.

Ya can not figure that the Government has not taken serious interest to this fact as of late in mainstream news given that legislation was passed and silenced brutally tagged with serious Wire tapping performed by secret american agencies. Adult is taken seriously by the American Government you just do not read about it day to day.

Its about CONTROL and revenue guys.

The concept for American Mobile Adult will be to find other Wireless providers.
europse has reaped serious cash flow from wireless, while American providers got a bloody nose.
I think that it can be said that no business is exempt from competition even when top wireless providers such as AT&T, TMobile put the heavy hand down.

But ven so, that hand was put down by none other then Government and the rightious Gonzales.
Especially in this field of work. The outcry for American Mobile has been silenced literally with little fan fair...

Thats fucken sad.
