Ramos, I know that your happy-go-lucky attitude on GFY is what made you so popular (aside from your good ole' boy moderator attitude when regarding threads attacking your boys) but now you are a rep for a company, a young company and your asshat attitude has really stirred the pot. When concerned affiliated started threads as their last resort you replied with bullshit comments that made them into jokes. These were/are legitimate concerns but you still approached them with the same mentality as when you were a MOD on GFY and with Adult.com. You joked, made a fucked up comment and thought the roar of laughter would drown out the problems. Life doesn't work that way my friend.

I do applaud you for this thread but my friend, I think its a day late and a dollar short. You could and should have addressed all of the issues in a professional manner in the first place rather than turning it all into one big joke. Once again, you have to know what is appropriate for your position (the term "Know your Role" comes to mind) and when you were with Adult.com your jovial attitude was admired by many. Now you're coming off as a clown dangling from your spiderweb thin shred of credibility. It's not looking good for you or for Fleshlight. For what it's worth, they should cut their losses and understand that they fucked up by bringing you on board. I have never seen one single person give a company such a bad rep in such a short amount of time since Lee Iacocca.

Good luck trying to get your credibility back but you have to understand that now you're fighting an uphill battle. Credibility is the hardest thing to earn but the easiest to lose. :2 cents:

you know what: you are 100% right. But look at the replies of the average GFY assclown in this thread: they dont give a fuck.. ramos is top notch fun guy etc.. there are no business ethics in this industry.

signed up this month? I have been a fleshlight affiliate for a few months now, sending constant traffic

I have been reading GFY for 2 years now, I just didn't feel the need to sign up until recently...sorry if my post count or join date isn't up to your standards

you can be suspicious all you want, but frankly I could care less, you don't work for fleshlight and obviously you have some alterior motives...maybe because ramos bought you a drink once or high fived you a few weeks ago

Wise not to post site URLs right now dial.

Posting them would be fine if you could be sure you wouldn't be attacked or hacked or whatever.

Rant on, it's not like Ramos didn't step in it.

I'm still sticking with the program and hope to grow income from it. Wanna see where it goes from here.

are you implying that the only reason to see his site would be to hack it?

its a valid question, no one knows who this guy is or if he is legit.

I wouldn't post anything anyway, most of the work I do is seo and I don't like a lot of my info to get out ;)

It doesn't matter if he is legit or not. He is making valid points. Why would he post a surfer site on a webmaster forum?

In all honestly I do not think FLashlight is a scam.

From what I understand folks are paid and have been paid the earning.
Maybe I am wrong?

I can just tell that the outfit is not a scam on the user's of the product nor a scam on webmaster's. Clearly they are trying and growing.

Try it -- you get signups. It's funny!

And GFY isn't a webmaster board. There are like 3 adult webmasters here -- and they're all sucking on the same tit. The rest of us are just faking it. We have no sites.

What do you mean by a "young affiliate program"? Unless my recall is badly off, Fleshlight had an invite-only affiliate program for at least 2 or 3 years before it was (briefly) opened to all comers.

The other problem I have with your description of the situation is that you talk about "bugs" when the complaints are about such things as traffic leaks and poor stats. Bugs are errors no-one intended: someone actually designed Fleshlight to be as it is in respect of the things most people are writing about.

Oh. How exactly does your "working night and day..." statement jibe with comments from others, such as those saying they contacted Fleshlight long ago about the traffic leaks and were specifically told they were staying as is.

Princess Ellisa 05-12-2006 07:14 PM

I think the point of posting a surfer site on a webmaster board is to create brand awareness. How could webmasters be expected to promote or care about a product that they have never heard of.

New product lines should always be put before the marketing department before they go out the door to the general public and essentially the webmasters of GFY are the biggest marketing department for online adult products.

Ramos is totally stand up and I don't think he meant any offense to anyone. Sometimes message boards are not the best medium for concise communications.

OG LennyT 05-12-2006 07:19 PM

Im going to repeat this one more time.. Lets see if it sinks in.

The ENTIRE program is being redone. It was never setup from the begining to handle a super large affiliate program. If you know about oscommerce (and I know some others on there know what I am talking about) the affiliate setups that were out there to work with osc were barely passable. They did the job, but very poorly.

Does anyone here REALLY want them to
A. Totally shut down the whole affiliate program while they retool, or
B. Waste valuable programmer time on fixing a program that is going to be scrapped in the very near future?

C. what I mean? :winkwink:

Lots of people have made, lots of money for years on this program. Its frankly just having severe growing pains, and its time to start over. End of story. Give Ramos some time to get the things that need done done. Im sure alot of you would prefer he just monitor the boards 24/7 and answer the same questions you ask over and over and over again. :1orglaugh

Actually Ive spent quite a bit of time with Ramos in the last few months. We sat in his room and talked all about what was going on at Fleshlight yesterday. I currently run a program using oscommerce for a backend, and I know EXACTLY what the problems they are dealing with are. Im going through EXACTLY the same issues they are. And for the record the only drinks bought for me by anyone are the sponsors of the shows who pay for the open bars. :thumbsup

Wow you must really be hitting your fleshlight hard ;) :pimp :1orglaugh :upsidedow

There is no need for mud-slinging in this thread by anyone regardless of the reason. If you have a genuine concern with fleshlight you would hit ramos up directly. Every program has growing pains at some stage and I'm sure that any issues will be ironed out and fleshlight will contine selling like hotcakes.

pimp on!

What does using oscommerce have to do with traffic leaks, not answering their ICQ/email/phone and insulting small webmasters?

ONE LAST TIME!! They are TOTALLY REBUILDING THEIR PROGRAM FROM SCRATCH!! Now WHY would they WASTE TIME on fixing a BROKEN program that is going to be scrapped in a few short weeks?? Maybe they are having trouble answering requests due to the fact that they are busting their asses fixing the problems that the affiliates are contacting about? Maybe many of these issues are answered on the affiliate page itself?

Listen its not like me and Ramos call each other every night and have phone sex and pretend we are cuddling long distance.... Ok well not every night... :winkwink: Im by no means best buds with Ramos, but I like Ramos. He and Juicy were two of the nicest people to me at my first show. Both made me feel welcome. Went out of their way to do that actually. People like that deserve respect. Classy people get my business and my respect.
