Domain Names

I know URL's carry some keyword weight in the SE's, but what is the best struture for a multi word domain name.
EXAMPLE:
mydomain.com
my_domain.com
my-domain.com
my domain.com
Anyone understand what I trying to ask?
Thanks

I don't think these are an option at all:
my_domain.com
my domain.com
As far as I know you can't use spaces or underscores.
Leaves you with two choices, and as far as I know, my-domain.com will do better in the SEs

This is what I can't understand how can the SE's tell that
"wekilledkenny.com" is three words?
If it did that means
we
killed
kill
kenny
ill
are all keywords in "wekilledkenny.com" right?

the search engine would use fuzzy logic to determine the best match...

the domain with the least difference to the search term entered would get a higher ranking

but then again i dont know what im talking about...

I am sure it does, how much is a domain name like that worth?
Is there some kind of mathmatical system to figure out the value of a domain name?

For a real site use MyDomain.com

For search engines use My-Domain.com

The only one of those that is worth money is the first one.

There are an unlimited number of domains with dashes out there.

Why not just use:

my-domain-my-domain.com
my-domain-is-mine.com
my-domain.net
my-my-domain.com
1-my-domain.com
2-my-domain.com
sex-my-domain.com

Forget domains with dashes unless you're doing search engine work. They aren't worth more than you paid for them.

Thanks Mr.Fiction for your input, but I still don't see how a domain name is worth anything unless it carries keyword strength for the ever so valuable SE traffic.
I mean I can submit
abzsss.com to links list, TGP's, AVS's, etc and as long as the page looks good it will be accepted. SE placement is the only thing I can think of that domain names effect.

If you own BritneySpears.com, you are going to get 1000's of people coming to the site every day looking for Britney related stuff, even without any search engine traffic. If you're selling Britney stuff, you are going to make a lot of money. That makes BritneySpears.com worth a lot of money. The same with Sex.com, XXX, Porn.com, etc.

Ask Lensman how much traffic Adult.com gets every day that isn't from search engines. I'd guess it's 10,000+ unique visitors.

ok, I never thought so many people typed in "something.com" in the location bar. It all makes sense now.
Thanks for all the replies.

Damn it does make sense now, this would also explain why .com is better then the all the other extensions, and made me realize all the good ones are taken. The people that bought sex.com, porn.com, xxx.com, adult.com, etc.
Made out like badits.
I really do appreciate you guys for helping me realize this.
